Hailey's POV
My eyes flickered a couple times, until I finally opened them fully. Where am I? I looked around, taking in my surroundings. A hospital? Just then a nurse walked in.
"Good thing you're awake," she started. "We need to do a couple tests on you."
"Wait, what happened? Why am I here?" I questioned.
"You were in a car accident," she said softly.
Then the memory came flooding back to me. I remember looking out the window and seeing the truck heading straight for us at full speed. I remember Jordan turning his head and telling me he loves me. Then the impact.
Jordan.
"Where's my boyfriend?" I asked franticly before I could think. "Please, tell me he's here. He has to be." I felt tears swelling up in my eyes.
"Ms. Leonard, he's fine. He's down the hall in another room. He's doing well, but he hasn't woke yet."
A tear slid down my cheek. "I need to go see him," I said as I started to push the covers back.
"No ma'am!" The nurse said as she walked over to me and pulled the covers back up. "You need rest. He's fine, I promise you."
I settled back in my pillow a little and sighed as she walked out of the room. But soon came back in with a tray of food and a glass. She set it in front of me as I began to eat. I took small bites, and ate slowly. I didn't really feel like eating, even though I was starving. I just wanted to see Jordan. Even if he wasn't awake yet, I needed to see him.
The next couple days dragged along. Today was the day Jordan is able to be moved into the same room I am in. The nurse said he has woken up, and he's doing better. Luckily we both didn't surfer any injury to the head, so we remember everything. But unfortunately, I broke my arm, 3 ribs, and fractured my leg somehow. Jordan broke a couple ribs also, broke his nose, ankle, and wrist. My poor baby. At least he's ok and I get to see him.
Jordan's POV
I woke up a couple hours ago. The nurse told me to try to go back to sleep, but I couldn't. Yes, the pain was shooting throughout my body every second, but I couldn't stop thinking about Hailey. The doctors told me she's ok and is doing well, but I still couldn't wait for these couple days to pass so I would finally be able to move into the same room Hailey's in.
------- time breakage -------
Today was the day. Today was the day I could see Hailey since the accident. They lifted me up on a gurney and started to wheel me down the hall to her room. Just before we turned the corner, I took a deep breath. I entered the room and looked to my left. There she was, sitting up in her bed. Even with IV's and casts and bandages, she looked absolutely beautiful.
I smiled. I didn't know what to say. I was at a loss of words.
"Hailey!" I whispered. My voice was weak from all the pain. As they wheeled me up to her side of the bed, I grabbed her in my embrace.
"Jordan. Oh, my god," she said between sobs. I pulled back to see her crying.
"Don't cry. You're going to make me cry," I felt tears swelling up in my eyes. She smiled and let out an airy laugh.
"I missed you so much," she said as she pulled me back into her embrace. I leaned back and gave her a passionate kiss.
"I missed you too. God, I'm so glad you're ok," I said just as a tear drop rolled down my cheek.
She smiled, "you're crying."
"Of course," I smiled back. "I just saw the love of my life after a car accident," I said the last part a little softly. I couldn't stop smiling, I was just happy.
"Ok Mr. Maron, we need to lift you up on this bed to set you up," said a nurse.
"Wait," I had an idea. "Could you roll the bed closer to Hailey's so I can be with her?" I asked. I glanced over to Hailey and saw her smiling.
"Sure," the nurse said while grinning.
They moved it beside Hailey's bed and lifted me up on it. After they hooked up my IV's again, I reached over and grabbed Hailey's hand. This reminded me of the car ride. I heard Hailey scream my name and point in front of us. I look out my window and see the truck headed straight for us. It was too late, so I turned back to Hailey, squeezed her hand, and told her I love her so much. I thought I died. I thought I wouldn't be able to see her ever again. But look where I am. I'm in the hospital, alive. And even better, with my amazing girlfriend beside me, holding my hand. I looked down to see our fingers intertwined, causing me to smile.
"What are you smiling about?" Hailey asked.
I looked up at her, her eyes bored into mine. "Nothing, just thinking."
She smiled, which made me smile. "I love you," she said.
"I love you more."
"No you don't."
"Yes I do!" I argued.
"Lies!" She giggled.
I leaned closer to her and pecked her on the lips. "Would I ever lie to you?" I asked. She just smiled.
We spent about another week in the hospital, and we could finally go home today. Me and Hailey were both able to walk, but I had to use crutches, thanks to my broken ankle.
After the doctor prescribed the medicine we both had to take, we were free to go. We signed the papers, and headed for the door.
Before we walked out, I stopped and called Hailey's name.
"Yeah?" She said as she walked in front of me. I leaned forward slightly and kissed her on the lips. "I just wanted to say I love you."
She smiled and blushed, "I love you too. Now lets head home."
We walked out the doors, and tried to find our car in the parking lot.
