My three day job starts tomorrow xD. Idk how many chapters left whatever 25 minus 18 is. I am so done with math. Nobody knows the level of done-ness.
“Okay so you’re gonna call me every day right?” Toby asked Riley as he walked the group out to their van. He had exchanged numbers with her and Nick to make sure they never lost touch again.
“Of course” Riley and Nick said simultaneously.
“Okay, take care of yourselves alright?” he said, leaning against the van. He and Riley watched as Nick and Ethan packed their things into the van. “So why did you and Jayden break away from the group a few days ago?” he asked quietly. She sighed and explained the whole situation with her father and her mother’s death.
“That’s hard” Toby said, giving her a sad smile. “Bye Riley” he said, pulling her into a hug and helped her get into the van. She gave him one last wave as they drove off and took her usual seat next to Jayden but this time Remy was driving so Emily was forced to sit next to Ghost while Nick sat in the passenger seat and Ethan sat on the other side of Riley but he was already sleeping.
They decided they were going to drive straight home this time and take short cuts and many arguments on Emily and Ghost’s part and road games later they were parked in front of a building near the orphanage. Riley had told Remy to park in front of the building so the others wouldn’t see where she lived. She noticed Jayden giving her a sad look and just as she was about to walk out of the van, he stopped her.
“Why don’t you and Nick come to my house for a few hours?” he suggested. She nodded hesitantly and sat back down but Nick insisted that he stay behind because Ms Twist was expecting them back so he will explain where Riley was.
“Daddy! You’re back” Jayden’s youngest sister Mary came running towards us and ran into Jayden’s arms. His other sister, Libby, walked out the door holding his little brother Scott who was fast asleep on her shoulder. Riley smiled when Jayden started spinning Mary around in his arms.
“Welcome back” Libby said in a dry voice, glaring at Jayden. He looked up at her and gave her a warning look but she simply rolled her eyes and walked back into the house. Jayden sighed and Riley put a hand on his shoulder to comfort him.
“Hi Riley” Mary said shyly. Riley smiled at the little girl and waved. She was shocked when the little girl wrapped her arms around her legs, giving her a hug. She looked up at Jayden for some sort of explanation.
“She likes meeting new people” Jayden explained, smiling down at Mary. “C’mon let’s go inside.” He scooped Scott up in his arms and Riley did the same to Mary and headed inside the house which was a disaster. Jayden’s eyes widened at the mess. There were two huge speakers in the living room which she didn’t remember seeing the last time she was there. A few bottles were thrown on the floor and some shards of broken glass and those infamous red and white cups.
“LIBBY!” Jayden’s voice boomed. The sixteen year old stormed in the room angrily.
“What?” she asked, looking annoyed.
“What happened here?” he asked, gesturing around the room.
“A party” she answered nonchalantly. Riley noticed Jayden’s face going red with anger; his fists wee clenched as he glared at his sister.
She gently took Scott from Jayden’s arms and carried both children to another room, as soon as she shut the door to the room Jayden exploded. He started yelling at Libby. Riley covered both children’s ears and looked around the room which she guessed was Jayden’s room. It was small but surprisingly neat considering he was a teenage boy. She sighed in pity; he was a teenage boy who was practically raising three children who weren’t even his.
