Chapter 13 - The secret is out

Bethany's point of view
I woke up on a beautiful, warm Saturday morning. The sun was shining. The birds were chirping. It was just a perfect day!! I got up out of my bed, and ran downstairs in my PJs and bunny slippers. "Good morning dear!" Mrs. Casper fake smiled. I looked at her finger, and her wedding and was gone!!
"Morning mom. Eh, why is your wedding band gone?" I asked.
"It's just.... Now that your dad has passed on, I took it off to let men know I'm single. Not that I wanna date anyone...." Mrs. Casper laughed. I just nodded my head in reply. I got a mug of coffee brewing, and I sat down eating some toast.

After breakfast, I went into my room, and picked an outfit. (Picture above). I put it on, and did casual, but intense makeup. I peered over the corner of the hall, to see mom with a guy. She gave him a kiss on the lips!! Then he left. "Oh, why can't I tell Bethany?" Mrs. Casper whispered to herself. I jumped out, pretending I was walking down the hall.
"Tell me what mom?" I asked curiously.
"Oh, that we.. Uh, might take a vacation!" Mrs. Casper lied.
"Are you sure that's what you need to say? I can talk all day!!" I smiled.
"Look. I'm very busy at the moment, so we can talk later!" Mrs. Casper said flustered. She pushed passed me and did things as she went on, pretending to clean. I chased after mom and grabbed her arm. "Talk to me!! Tell me what you are hiding!!" I demanded.
"Fine!! I'm dating this guy named..... Alex..." Mrs. Casper looked guilty.
"Mom! He is your ex-husband. How dare you keep this from me!" I yelled.
She just looked at the floor, and we never spoke since.

It was mid afternoon, and I was going out with Joshua. "Bye mom, I'm going out with my fiancé!" I said sassy and slammed the door shut. I hopped in my car, and drove to the mall to meet up with Joshua. When I arrived there, I parked my car and met Josh in the lobby of the mall. "Hey sugar!" Joshua smiled and greeted me with a kiss.
"Hey!" I frowned and he kissed me for the second time, but on the check.
"What's wrong boo?" Joshua asked, as we walked towards the food court.
"It's my mom. She is dating her freaking ex-husband, and she lied. She never told me the truth!!" I cried.
"Hey! Let's get your mind off things, and let's get some tacos!" Joshua said. We walked towards Taco Bell.

After we ate, we did some shopping. I got some new cute clothes and makeup, and Josh got some things too! "Did you have a good time sweetie?" Joshua asked as we exit the mall.
"Yes I did. I'll see you soon ok?" I said as we walked towards our vehicles.
"Alright, bye!" Joshua smiled and kissed my cheek. He went off in his car, and I went off in mine.

I arrived home, and seen my mom at the kitchen table. "Come and sit down. I need to talk to you!" Mrs. Casper said.
"What is it?" I asked as I sat down.
"I'm sorry for keeping this from you. I know it's not right that I'm dating my ex-husband. I'm sorry Bethany. I messed up!" Mrs. Casper cried.
"Aw mom. And I'm sorry for getting all angry at you. It's ok mom!!" I teared up. I got up out of my chair, and we had a nice long hug. It was the best hug that I ever had!!
