The one who stood out

Chapter 18 - Joshua's 24th birthday

Bethany's point of view
I got up at 5:30am to prepare the perfect birthday for Josh, with Lana. We had a party room in your house, so we decorated there. I put on the outfit (picture above) and did a smokey eye and curled my hair. Lana dressed up too. I laid a tux on the floor with a note that said: Wear this, and come to the party room @12. Everything was set, we were gonna be done around 11 with the decor, but it's gonna be worth it.

Joshua's point of view
I woke up from a very heavy sleep at 10:30. Bethany wasn't in the bed. I got sad because it was my birthday. Then, I seen a tux and a note on the floor and I knew something was up. I read the note, and began getting ready. I did my hair and freshened up a bit and it was 12. I went into the party room, and it was decorated blue and black. I gasped at the sight. "HAPPY BIRTHDAY JOSHUA!!" Everyone shouted. I ran over to Bethany, who was looking beautiful as ever and gave her a kiss. "Thank you babe!" I cried.
"You treat me well, so now it's your turn!" Bethany smiled.
I looked over to my right and seen a stack of gifts and a huge 3 layer cake. Then I looked to my left to see my sisters, mom and dad. "How'd they get here?" I asked Bethany confused.
"I flew them here for your birthday!" She explained.
I just stood there in shock, and lifted her up in happiness. I kissed her and thanked her.

I walked her over to them, to introduce her a little more. "Mom, Dad, Leila and Julie. This is my beautiful wife, Bethany!" I smiled.
"Aw, Bethany. I remember you from Joshua's cousins wedding!" Mrs. Andrews smiled.
"Yes. I've never seen Julie or Leila before. Your both beautiful girls!" Bethany smiled, looking at the twin 16 year olds.
"Me? Your beautiful too!" Julie smiled.
"Yeah, you are!" Leila smiled.
"Thanks girls!" Bethany blushed.
"Wait! Your our sister in law!" Julie squeaked. She hugged Bethany tight and she giggled.

I began opening my gifts, and I opened Bethany's first. She gave me a $500 chain and a cologne set. I opened all my families gifts and they were amazing. My pals sent me gifts in the mail too. All of the sudden, my other sister Jackie waked through the door. "Happy birthday Josh!" Jackie laughed. I was angry she came, because we're not as close anymore. "How'd you get here?" I asked her.
"Josh! I live in California, 3 hours away!" Jackie laughed and gave me a gift. I opened it and it was a cup. "Thank you Jackie!" I blushed. She patted my head and went for the drink table.

We served up some supper, and we ate some cake. My mom, dad, Julie and Leila were staying at a hotel near our house, and Jackie went back home. The rest of Bethany's friends went home too. "I had a great day. Thank you!" I cried.
"Awe! Josh, no problem. You do things for me, so I'll do things for you!" Bethany teared up. I kissed her cheek and her face lit up. Even though I never got to be alone with Bethany, today was still a perfect day!
