Chapter 3 - Asked out and Embarrassed by Elissa

Bethany's point of view
Its Friday, the best day if they week. I got up to get ready, like every other day. I got up, brushed my hair and got dressed. (Picture above). I waved my hair and did casual makeup. I grabbed my Rose Gold iPhone and ran downstairs. My brother was feeling better, and was already downstairs, waiting for me. I snapped a selfie, and posted it to Instagram. I grabbed a green apple and grabbed my backpack and brother, and headed to school. On our way to school, we had a conversation. "How are you doing in school Alex?" I asked.
There was no response. "Alex, be respectful I asked you a question!" I raised my voice.
"Oh. Yeah, yeah. I'm doing fine," Alex said and put his face back on his 3DS. We arrived at school not long after.

As soon as I got to my locker, Jessica ran up to me. "Uh, look what text Elissa sent to the whole school!" Jessica cried. She showed me the text and it read: DO NOT invite Bethany Casper to any parties because 1. She'll take all the Spotlight.
2. She's stupid and ugly
3. She has a contagious disease so stay away from her.
After I read that text message, my face went blank. I cried a bit, and Jessica could see. Joshua came as Jessica left. "Are you ok? I seen the text," Joshua explained.
"I-I'm gr-reat thanks!" I cried into my hands. My mascara was running, and I wiped it off. Joshua gave me a rose. "Will you be my girlfriend?" Joshua asked.
"Maybe. I'll text you the answer after school!" I blurted, not thinking right. Joshua nodded his head and walked to his other friends, Ben and Chad.

I made my way to period 1, French with, Mr. Sanders, Elissa's dad. He was nice, but she wasn't. I sat in my seat in Mr. Sanders class. "Bonjour class!" Mr. Sanders laughed. The class responded "Bonjour". I was dreading for French today, because we were starting a project. "For today's class, we will be starting a project. The project will be a research project, on England. You'll have to tell me 10 things about England, in French!!" Mr. Sanders explained.
"Daddy... Uh I mean Sir, do we have to do it on England?" Elissa asked.
"Yes Elissa! And don't call me dad in school!!" Mr. Sanders yelled.
"Yes sir!" Elissa whined.
"Alright, take your computers out and start writing your French essay!!" Mr. Sanders said. Everyone got their computers out, and started typing.

Class was over, and it was what we called "Resses" in primary and elementary. I got out a granola bar and started chomping on it. I scrolled though my Instagram and took a selfie, and my caption read: board at school. It's only the start!. I finished my bar and threw the rapper in the garbage. I put my phone in my purse, and took a stroll through the hallway. A couple people laughed at me, and a couple people pointed, but that was ok. It was Elissa's doing, not mine. My thoughts were interrupted by the bell for period 2, health class.

It was finally period 5, the last period of the school day. I had Social Studies with Mrs. Gillie, a very strict teacher. "Alright, turn to page 44 and were going to talk about Hinduism today!!" Mrs. Gillie yelled. Everyone turned to page 44 by her command. "Now, do you guys know what Diwali is? It's a festival!" Mrs. Gillie brightens up. We all nodded our heads, and talked the rest of class.

RING RING!!! School was over for the week. My brother walked to the high school part from the Jr. High part of our school. We both walked out to my car, him going a fast pace and me taking my time. I threw my bookbag in the back seat and drove home. Alex wasn't to long jumping out of the car when I parked. I slowly walked up to my room, dreading to text back Joshua. As soon as I sat on my bed, I got a text from him.
Joshua: Hey. You home?
Bethany: Just sat down! Lol
Joshua: so is it a yes? No?
Bethany: Josh, I'm not ready for a relationship yet. I'm turning 17 in two weeks. We can still be close friends ok?
Joshua: oh, ok. Friends for now. Date later?
Bethany: Y-yeah!
Joshua: Ok bye!
