Bethany's point of view
The week definitely went by fast, it's Saturday already!! It was only 7, so I just laid down in my bed, watching Netflix on my computer. She got interrupted by her phone ringing. "Hello?" She yawned.
"Hey sweetie, wanna go to a party with me tonight?" Joshua asked.
"What kind of party?" I asked.
"Well, a wedding!" Joshua said.
"That's not a party silly, but of course I'll go!" I laughed.
"Great! It's my cousin, Hilary's wedding, so dress up!" Joshua explained.
"Alright, what time?" I asked,p.
"I'll pick you up at 11:30," Joshua said.
"Ok. See you soon bye!" I smiled.
"Bye sweetie!" Joshua giggled.
We both hung up and I continued watching Netflix.
It's now 9, so I decide to get ready since it takes me a decade to do so. I pick out a beautiful outfit from my formal wear section of my closet, and slip into the dress. I wear earrings and a bracelet and pear it with beautiful black heels. I match it with a black clutch. I do an intense brown smokey eye, with heavy eyeliner and mascara. I wear red lipstick to finish off the makeup look. I wear big curls in my hair, and I'm ready by 11:30 sharp.
The doorbell rings, and I go open the door. Joshua is standing there, in a black tux holding a rose. "You look stunning!" Joshua gasped.
"Can't say the same about you!" I giggled.
He handed me the Rose, and escorted me out to his vehicle. I jumped in the passenger seat, and we drove off to the wedding location. We arrived, and it was a beautiful outdoor wedding. He opened the car door for me, and held my hand as we walked to our seats. "Hey my young boy! Is this your girlfriend you were telling me about?" Mrs. Andrews asked.
"Yes it is mom. Isn't she beautiful!" Joshua smiled making me blush.
"She's stunning! Lets go sit down, the wedding is soon starting," Mrs. Andrews smiled.
Me and Joshua sat next to each other and the wedding started. Both Hilary and her now to be husband said yes! I was o happy for them! It was now the little party.
Joshua brought us some punch, and we sipped slowly. "Hey little cuz. Who's this lovely lady?" Hilary asked.
"She's my girlfriend!" Joshua explained.
"Ah, that's Bethany right?" Hilary asked.
"Indeed she is!!" Joshua smiled.
"Your a very beautiful lady Bethany!" Hilary smiled as she walked away to her husband.
"Your cousin is very pretty herself. Long brown hair, flowing along her curls. Bright blue eyes that stand out!" I explained.
"Not as pretty as you!" Joshua smiled and we kissed.
It was a long day, and Joshua dropped me off. "Goodbye sweet pea, thanks for coming!" Joshua smiled.
"Anytime Joshy!" I giggled.
He kissed my check goodbye, and drove off. I noticed my moms car in the driveway, she just got home from work. I entered the house. "Where have you been, all dressed up?" Mrs. Casper asked with a smile.
"Joshua took me to his cousins wedding!" I explained.
"Your not dating are you?" Mrs. Casper asked.
I never told mom! "No, he took me just as friends!" I lied.
"Good enough then!" Mrs. Casper said.
I made my way up to my room, and got some PJ'S on, and wiped off my makeup. Mom was cooking supper in the kitchen, and I was watching TV in the living room.
THE NEXT DAY.....
I woke up, and my phone read: 9:30am, Sunday May 16, Happy birthday. I'm 17 today! I quickly jumped out if my bed, and ran downstairs. I smiled because I was so happy. There was a knock on the door. I opened it to see Joshua, all dressed up and I'm in my pjs. "Happy birthday sweetie!" Joshua smiled, holding a giant teddy bear. He handed it to me. I told him I'll quickly get ready. I wore a long sleeveless red dress, with black pumps that fit perfectly. I wore diamond earrings and a necklace, curled my hair and did a dramatic makeup look. I was done in 1 hour, record time. "Your looking beautiful as ever!" Joshua smiled. I wrote a note to my mom saying, I was hanging out with Hayley, I'd be back soon!
We arrived a beautiful log cabin. I entered the cabin with Joshua, and everything was set up fancy. It was gorgeous!! "Joshua, did you do this?" I asked.
"Yes, I wanted it to be perfect!" Joshua smiled.
He served a gourmet dish on fancy plates me we dug in. It was amazing!! After we were done eating, he gave me 3 gifts. A small one, a medium one and a very big one. I opened the small one, and it was jewelry. I opened the medium one, and it was dresses and shoes. I opened the big one, and it was a tv!! "Thanks babe!" I cried and kissed his cheek.
"There's one more gift!" Joshua explained.
"What?" I asked.
He pulled out a small box from his pocket, and got on his knee. "Will you marry me?" Joshua asked.
"I'm 17, your 18, I dunno Josh!" I cried.
"It would make me the happiest man alive. Please, will you marry me?" Joshua asked.
A tear rolled from my eye. I really wanted to, I really did. "Joshua, I do!!" I cried, tears falling rapidly. He placed the ring in my finger, and kissed me.
He brought me home, and I finally had to explain to mom. Joshua, mom and I sat at the table. "So you've been keeping the secret for 7 months?" Mrs. Casper asked.
"Yah, sorry mom. Now I'm engaged," I explained.
"I'm happy for you, that's all," Mrs. Casper said.
We continued the conversation for a bit, and Joshua left. Today was the best birthday a girl could even ask for! It was the best ever!!
