Chapter 10: The Past

Havoc's POV

"Is it okay for us to leave those two behind all by themselves?" Basag ni Zoe sa katahimikan habang sumisimsim sa wineglass na puno ng white wine. Nalukot ang mukha niya. "Yuck! This taste so disgusting."

Zack chuckled. "Bakit ngayon ka pa lang nandidiri? We don't have any tastebuds for human food. Only for blood, remember?" Kuminang ang itim na itim na mga mata nito. I caught a glimpse of his eyes transforming into scarlet-red as he showed his sharp and white fangs before turning back to normal.

"They are newborns, Zoe," sabat ni Zeke habang nakatunghay sa madilim na kalangitan. "Besides, we can hear their conversation clearly kahit pa nandito tayo sa Gallery Room. And they seem to be having a heart-to-heart talk."

"What do you think, Count Havoc?" Baling sa akin ni Zoe habang binababa ang wineglass. She crossed her legs and leaned on the arm of her royal chair, her hand started playing with her slender neck.

Ngumisi ako. "They are under my command. Alipin ko sila. Hangga't hindi ko sinasabing tumigil sila sa pakikipagusap, they'd continue to obey my orders."

She rolled her eyes and gazed at Suarez. "But I don't get human stories. Masyados silang melodramatic. Don't you think, Miss Suarez?" Zoe called her surname mockingly.

Mabilis na dumaan ang iritasyon sa mukha nito pero agad ding nawala nung salubungin nito ang mga mata ni Zoe. Isang pilit ngunit kakikitaan pa rin ng respeto ang ngiting kumurba sa mga labi nito.

"I did not dare to lick any drop of Meghan's blood, Your Majesty," she sounded a little bit sarcastic. Nawala ang humor sa mga mata ni Zoe. "So I won't be able to give any rational feedback regarding the life of Mortals."

Lalong sumimangot ang mukha ni Zoe nung pagtawanan ng kapatid. "Shut the hell up, retards!"

"'Wag mo na kasing awayin si Miss Suarez. Masyado kang isip-bata." Biro ni Zeke.

"What?!" Nilingon ni Zoe ang nangingising Zack. "Kuya oh!" Turo ni Zoe kay Zeke. "He's so mean!"

"Zoe, you're already 618. Act rationally."

Napahalakhak ng malakas si Zeke dahil sa rumehistrong disappointment sa mukha ng nakababatang kapatid matapos malaglag ang panga nito at 'di makapaniwalang napatitig sa nakatatandang kapatid na si Zack. I smirked when in a blink of an eye, she's already behind her eldest brother and quickly twisted his neck.

I chuckled nung mawalan ng malay si Zack. Tawa lang ng tawa ang middle child habang iritado namang bumalik sa kanyang royal chair ang bunsong babae.

"You should've never said that, brother. Baka malagutan ka ng hininga." Natatawang wika ni Zeke.

We heard Zack chuckled before he lifted his upper body up. "Good thing I'm a vampire." Tabingi ang ulo niya at nakabaling ito sa kanyang kaliwa kaya naman ay tinuwid niya ang ayos nito. Ilang minuto ang lumipas ay napuno pa ng bangayan ang Gallery Room.

Nang magsawa si Zoe ay iniba niya ang topic. "Seriously though, the man named Luigi Costa Paige is truly familiar."

Napabuntong hininga si Zack. "He's the Padrino of the famous Costa Family."
