What Happened When We Met

A week later

Narrator: Timmy

It's been a week. Only a week and I feel like a teenager. I think meeting these girls changed us. I feel like we've been doing things that make us feel younger. I texted Helena the night we met. It wasn't that important I just told her: "It was nice meeting you". I could see that she was more into Jimmy than anyone else in the band. They even sat next to each other. Seattle has been texting Alaska, I don't know what about, and I don't know if it's too soon for them to like each other, but they look cute together.
I know that Roger went out once with Emma. He picked her up from college or something.
"I'm gonna pick up Helena, Effie can't pick her up because she got stuck filming. Do you want to come?" Jimmy interrupted my thoughts and I saw him standing playing with the car keys.
"No, I still have to get ready. Make sure you make it there early, Adrian said he needed our help" I answered not looking at him. I felt kind of jealous.
"Is everything okay?" Jimmy asked me, with a concerned look on his face.
"Yeah, just go" he probably didn't believe me, but he left.
I took a shower and got dressed. I drove to the auditorium and I saw Adrian and everyone from his band outside. I stayed there talking to them for a while, I was introduced to Ronnie, even though we already knew each other.
I turned around towards the street and I saw Helena and Jimmy coming. They were laughing and he was carrying her jacket. They looked just like a couple. And that's when it finally ocurred to me that I was starting to like her. But it's impossible, it's been just a week since I met her, and for me to like someone, that's hard.
When they got closer, they saw me, and Helena smiled. She hurried to where I was and she gave me a hug. Jimmy was looking at her with a smile on his face. "My brother likes her", I thought, so I knew I had to back off.
We went in and we got some drinks and snacks. We didn't really care about being all the way to the front, but the girls wanted to, so we stayed there with them, first row.
They saw Ronnie backstage, and they were all so excited, giggling and jumping, I told Jimmy that we had to take them to meet him after the concert was over.
Effie was standing next to me for the whole concert, I saw her looking at Jimmy once in a while. The band was getting ready to play their last song. They invited everyone to go up the stage. The floor was almost empty, except for people who were at the tables or standing really close to the walls. But Helena didn't seem like she was going up.
"You're not going up?" I pointed towards the stage, and then looked back at her. "I'm too heavy for that, how could I go up that huge stage?" she made a sad face and then started laughing.
"Come on, I'll help you" I told her offering my hand.
She took it but she said, "No, I'm fine here. You can go if you want" she didn't let go of my hand.
"I'll stay" we were still holding hands.
The song was over and Helena went to help Effie and the girls get down the stage. I walked around looking for Adrian to tell him to go say hi.
"Hey man! How was the show?" He asked me.
"You guys rocked it, as usual. Hey remember the girls from the other day?" I turned around looking their way.
"Oh yeah! Let me go say hi," he started walking, "Oh! Come with me Ronnie, you have to meet these girls!" I walked after them, and I saw Effie's face when she noticed Ronnie walking that way. She started tapping Alice's and Alaska's arms to make them look our way. I won't forget the smiles on their faces. They reminded me of myself when I met the guy from Greenday.
They all shook hands wih him and took pictures together. Alice had plenty of things to ask him, so they stayed talking for a while. And Effie left with Adrian, I think he was going to take her to meet the Assuming We Survive production crew. I turned around and saw Alaska with Seattle and Roger, they were writing something down. I had heard that she had some ideas for our next album, Jimmy was sitting on the border of the stage with Emma. And Helena was lost, I mean I couldn't see her anywhere.
People's voices were irritating me, so I decided to walk outside and sit on one of the benches. I had my face on my hands when I felt a tap on my shoulder. I looked up and it was Effie.
"What are you doing out here all by yourself?" She sat down next to me and crossed her legs.
"I needed to take a break" I hardly looked at her. I saw Helena talking to Michael from In Urgency.
"You know what, you need a friend. A really good friend that makes you laugh with fart jokes" she said a little too excited, I couldn't help but laugh at that last part.
"Yeah, I think I need a best friend" I smiled weakly, I just felt so tired.
"Well, now I'm your best friend. High Five!"
"Okay, now that we are best friends, tell me one of your darkest secrets" I tried to hold back my laugh at my remark on darkest.
"I love myself" and she laughed so hard that Michael immediately looked this way.
"That's not your darkest secret!"
"That's the problem, it is" she got all serious.
