"It's been a week Roger!" Emma yelled while she was on the phone. She rolled her eyes.
Yeah, it had been a week and I had not talked to Jimmy once.
"We've talked everyday!... We're not doing anything... Yeah... No, no plans yet..." She seemed really annoyed.
"I think we are going to need a drink or some Froyo" Effie told me pointing at Emma. I nodded.
"Guys, Ronnie is coming over, he said we should all go out and distract ourselves from all this mess" Alice looked around.
"We're good!" Alaska yelled from the couch. She had been there the whole week, she would just get up to go to the bathroom and to eat.
"I agree," Effie smiled, "I think we should go out and get drunk" she winked.
"Yeah, we totally should!" I cheered, "let's go get ready!" I ran up the stairs and into my room.
After everything we had been through, Effie and I became very good at drinking, I knew that was not a good excuse for being a drunk, but they say whatever helps you to survive is good. We worked double shifts, we gave our very best in hopes of someday being better. Even if that meant that we lose the fun. The only fun thing we got to do sometimes was get drunk. And since our friends were now gone, we had to find new ones, in a bar.
Effie was driving and I was in the front seat. We had the music so loud we couldn't even hear each other. Effie was speeding through traffic, and everyone in the back seemed to be laughing.
We got to a bar called "The Chimichanga". Alaska and Emma ran inside and got their place on the bar. Alice and Ronnie were holding hands and they sat on a table.
Effie and I hurried and sat by Alaska and Emma.
"Can I get a beer?" Effie asked the bartender, "you know what, make them two" she nodded.
"What can I get for you?" He asked me.
"Jack Daniels, please" I responded dryly.
"That's so fucking cliché" Effie rolled her eyes.
"Shut up," I shoved her playfully, "he had a nice beard, didn't he?" I nodded towards the bartender.
"He sure did" she chuckled.
"Who did?" Emma asked curiously.
"Nosy!" Effie grinned at her.
"The bartender" I laughed.
"What about me?" I heard the bartender ask.
"Shit you heard that" Effie and I said at the same time. He laughed and gave us our drinks.
"We said you have a nice beard" Effie said with no embarrassment at all.
"Why, thank you" he vowed and left to the other side of the bar.
"What happened to being socially awkward?" Alaska told her with a drunk voice.
"You're drunk already?" Effie asked with surprise in her voice.
"Well you could say that I'm starting to get happy, I'm not drunk yet" she laughed.
"Yeah sure" Emma said pointing at the empty shot glasses they had in front of them.
"Well I don't want to stay behind" I laughed and asked the bartender for more whiskey and some vodka.
"You sure?" Effie asked me, we were never good when combining alcoholic substances.
"Yeh, why not?" I said careless.
"Well, just so you remember, there's no Jimmy to kiss you at the end of the night" she said finishing the rest of her beer.
"I don't need him to be a successful drunk" I smiled.
The alcohol started kicking in. The girls and I were laughing so hard. Ronnie wasn't drinking, he said he couldn't do it in front of Alice, he cared too much.
"He's the homeboy!" We heard a guy say really loud. We turned to where the voice was comig from, and we saw two bearded guys hugging the bartender.
"Hey can you guys take a picture of us?" One of them said handing us his phone. He had a long beard, tattoos and glasses on. He was wearing a white shirt.
"Sure" I answered taking his phone, Effie walked with me and we took the pictures they wanted.
"Thank you so much!" The other guy told me patting my shoulder. I smiled.
Effie and I had always had a thing for bearded guys. We never knew exactly what it was, we just knew that a bearded guy was way more attractive to us. We were the kind of girls that liked tattoos, we had some ourselves, and they were both tattooed. We just looked at each other already knowing what we were thinking.
"Hey do I know you from somewhere?" The guy with the hat turned to Effie.
"I don't think so" she smiled and shook her head.
"Yeah, I think I would remember that smile perfectly" he chuckled, Effie blushed a little and we all went to our previous places.
"He was totally trying to hit you up" I laughed.
"Yep, we saw it all the way from here" Alaska laughed.
"Dude, he is exactly your type, look at him" Emma said nodding towards the guy, "cool hair, hat, beard, tattoos, glasses, blue shirt. Exactly how you like them" Emma was drunk already, but she was making perfect sense.
"And you could go out with the other one, the bald one" Alaska held my hand and laughed, "they look like they could be brothers or something, I would go out with him, if I was single" Alaska laughed more.
"You know what, I'll call Seattle" she took her phone out of her purse.
"Are you sure that's a good idea? We're drunk!" Emma hugged Alaska and laughed harder. Alaska dialed Seattle's number.
"Hello boyfriend.... Yes, I'm with the girls..... How did you know? ...... Hahahahaha........ Well you better....... Seattle you better not cheat on me while you're over there, because I am here and there's a lot of cute guys and I'm not even dancing...... I only dance with you okay..... Good....... Love you...." Alaska smiled and hung up.
Our phones vibrated.Seattle: Guys, please take care.
"He's so cute!" Emma said.
"Look who's coming" Alaska said looking behind us. We turned around and saw the two bearded guys walking towards us.
"Hey! We thought we should introduce ourselves since we asked you to take a picture and all that" the bald guy said holding out his hand for me to shake.
"I'm Atticus" he gave me a huge smile. He shook Effie's hand too.
"And I'm Brandon" the one with the hat said with a drunk voice. He looked a little more drunk than Atticus.
"Effie" she said shaking Brandon's hand.
"Helena" I smiled to them both.
"Nice to meet you" Atticus said flirtatiously.
"Would you like a drink?" Brandon told Effie looking straight into her eyes.
"Sure" she chuckled.
And next thing we knew, we were sitting at the bar with two bearded, handsome men.
