Jake decided we should get a room at the casino and invite Luke, Jennifer, Amy and one of her guy friends. He paid for three rooms next to each other and told me to ask Luke and Amy. Since Amy already knows about my secret relationship with Jake, we don't worry about her too much. When I ask Luke he agrees, only because I told him he could finally meet my boyfriend.
Now here we are, at the casino. Jake pays for the rooms then hands me the room keys. "I'm going to go up and change into my swim trunks. Have everybody meet at the pool," he says.
"Okay."
I press my lips to his before he walks away. Amy arrives moments later with a guy I've never met before. "Juliet, this is Sebastian. Sebastian, this is Juliet."
"Nice to finally meet you," he smiles.
"You too. Here's your room key. We're meeting at the pool," I say.
They nod. "Thanks."
They make their way to the elevator and I continue waiting for Luke and Jennifer. Not too much longer later, they arrive. I give them their room key and smile. "Everybody's meeting at the pool."
"Okay. We'll meet you there, then."
We go up to our rooms and get changed. I race to the pool where Jake is. I watch his muscular back as he swims from one side to the other. When he comes up for air, I walk over to where he is. "You're so damn sexy," I smile.
He smiles. "So are you."
I sit on the edge of the pool, my feet dangling in the water. He stands between my legs, circling his arms around my waist. "They should be down any minute," I say, loosely wrapping my arms around his neck.
Slowly, he pulls me in to the pool with him. I wrap my legs around him and he pushes me up against the wall. "I think I forgot something in the room. Help me get it?" he asks playfully.
I roll my eyes. "Very funny. That can wait until later."
"Promise?" he asks, inching closer to my face.
"Promise," I nod.
His lips press to mine but the sound of the door opening behind us pulls us apart. I bury my face in the crook of his neck as Jake bravely looks towards the door. "Jake?" Luke asks. "What are you doing here?" Slowly, I turn around and Luke finally catches on. "Holy shit."
Jennifer stands awkwardly beside him, her baby bump out in the open because of her bikini. I untangle myself from Jake's body before facing Luke again. "We should've told you sooner. Jake wanted to but I wouldn't let him. I just didn't want it interfering with our friendship but I finally decided I needed to tell you."
He takes a deep breath. "Wow. How long has this been going on?"
Jake and I look at each other. "We met at your new years eve party. She was my first kiss of the new years," Jake says.
"That was almost two months ago," Luke says in disbelief. "What about that Spencer guy you were with before the wedding?"
Jake seems unfazed about this but I get nervous. "He's not who I thought he was. That was over before it bbega," I say.
Amy and Sebastian come in, throwing their stuff on a table. Ignoring us, they both get into the pool. "Did Amy know about this?"
I nod. "Yeah. She told me it was wrong - that's why we weren't speaking. In all honesty, I had no clue he was your uncle until a week after we met."
Jennifer touches Luke's arm and whispers something. He looks away for a long moment before his gaze settles back on me. "As long as your happy," he says, his voice slightly strained.
Jennifer takes his hand and leads him to the opposite side of the pool. Jake and I look at each other. "That wasn't so bad," he says.
"He's upset, though," I point out.
"He'll get over it," be shrugs.
I press my back to the wall. "Do you remember the first time you met me?"
He shakes his head. "No."
"It was Luke's eighth birthday party. You were sixteen. You played pool by yourself the whole time."
He shakes his head a little. "I remember."
"Amy and I thought you were so cute," I chuckle. "I never thought we'd be together."
He looks into my eyes and I can see it. It's not all quite there, but it's most definitely there. The look. The look every girl waits for. "I'm glad we are," he says softly.
I press my lips to his and we kiss passionately. After a long moment, he pulls away and hugs me. We say nothing, just enjoying each others touch. I've never felt this way about anybody else. With Jake, everything seems different. I'd do just about anything to be with him.
He kisses beneath my ear. "We should distance ourselves a little before my nephew gets pissed," he chuckles.
I smile. "Okay. I'm going to talk to Amy."
He pecks my lips once more before going our separate ways. Amy is alone and I look around for Sebastian but don't find him. "Where's Sebastian?" I ask.
"He went to the bathroom," she says. "Thanks for inviting us. I was surprised."
"Why? You're my friend," I say.
"Well, I thought you were still mad at me. I didn't think you'd want me around just yet," she says.
"Amy, no matter what happens between us, we'll always be friends. Yeah... I was upset, but I'm over it. Jake and I are together and I wouldn't have it any other way," I say. "Let's just forget about what happened so we can move on."
She smiles. "Deal."
