*beep beep beep*

I woke up from the sound of my alarm clock beeping like crazy. Today was the first day of my sophomore year in high school. Yeah, I've got to look nice for the freshmen but waking up at 6 o'clock in the morning is such a pain. Anyway, I rolled off my bed into the bathroom, like I normally do. Brush my teeth, wash my face, moisturize, put on some lip balm and get dressed. I normally wear black bottoms and a teal colored top and finish it off with a purple scarf my mom made. I skip downstairs into the kitchen making some food for lunch as I chug a glass of milk. I grabbed everything I need and stuff it down my backpack.

"Crap! It's 5 minutes before class starts!" I ran out the door running, trying not to ruin my hair and all but running to wasn't gonna make the cut. I had to come up with a quicker way to get to school. Checking that no one was near me, I froze the side walk with my ability. It wasn't the first time I've been late like this so I took out a pair of skates from my bag. This way, it only took 3 minutes to get to school instead of 13.

I arrived about a minute before class started and greeted my friends: Leyna, Veronica, Amber, Ashton, Barry, Ethan, Noah, Jisoo (leyna's BF) and Tammi (Barry's GF). Veronica is my cousin but we're complete opposites.

"Leyna, could I borrow some binder paper? Looks like forgot my notebook again." I asked as I grinned mischievously.

"JISOOS CHRIST, AGAIN! Didn't you say you were gonna change this year? Geez, Marissa," Leyna replied.

"Alright, alright. I'll give you some food later." I said, trying to calm her down.

"Nah, it's fine." Leyna continued clinging onto Jisoo.

The teacher started mumbling off about something like 'Welcome to your second year of high school where you will be learning more about the shit I teach called math.' The whole class started giggling due to his quirky attitude. Even though he talked trash about academics, he was a pretty awesome teacher. He used proper methods and everything too. Class soon ended and it was already second period. Everything else was boring so my day went by pretty quickly. Soon enough, It was already time for P.E. Veronica walked out of the changing room wearing black as she got teased by Ashton.

"For the last time, Ashton, I'm not emo!" Veronica shrieked with a pinch of rage.

"Oh shut up, Ashton. She wears black skinny jeans, shoes and jackets and there you are wearing a Star Labs sweatshirt and some baggy sweats to school. At least she knows how to dress properly. Besides, if you have the right to call Veronica an emo, then don't I have the right to call you a pig?" I lost my temper there for a moment but I was seriously pissed. Leyna walked over to try and calm me down but it didn't help too much.

" You guys, it's only the first day of sophomore year and you're already bickering? Isn't there something else you two could do?" Amber quickly suggested.

" I wonder where Barry is..." Ashton mumbled.

"He's probably wandering off in the hallways looking for his snap back, Ashton or should i call you Pig?" I said, purposely trying to sound mean.

"Thanks, Marissa but don't you think calling him a pig is a bit much?" Veronica chuckled.

"Nah, n-" I was cut off by the sound of a bomb shaking the ground.

"What the hell?" Amber asked, wide-eyed and shocked. None of us knew what was going on. Soon the door opened and Barry appeared with his mouth open. We all gawked like idiots at the sight of the smoke. Was it terrorists? I don't flippin' know but whatever it is, the lot of us are gonna have to stop it.
