Kita sat alone in the cantina doing her own makeup while waiting for the others to arrive. She'd called them an hour ago, thinking that would be plenty of time for everyone to be ready. Ten minutes passed and no one had arrived yet. Putting her compact away, she grabbed a handful of cookies and ate patiently.
The boys showed up first, one right after the other. Zidin grumbled about Tina darting him to her. She politely told him that he was like everyone else; if he was going to pick a fight he'd better be ready for what could come. His mischaracterization of Tina had left him wide open for such an easy defeat. Kita smiled to herself as Zidin went away grumbling about how she wasn't supposed to be right.
Anthrax had come in with Frostbane. Kita was happy the pair had patched up whatever damage had happened by her sudden leaving and his refusal to go. They made an awfully cute couple together, at least when he was in bear form. His refusal to wear clothes when human made her want to hurl, even as the other girls stared.
Tina, Katie, and Amber came in together; apparently Tina had worked on making peace between Katie and Amber over the last day. Though from what Kita understood Amber was out and Katie was back in with Tina, without Katie being jealous it had probably been fairly easy. The three little angels attacked the food dispenser before coming over to sit and start talking wildly about some game they'd introduced Amber to.
Kita frowned when Sarin and Snowy came in looking perfect, but also looking like they'd spent a lot of time doing something else. The pair took one look at Kita and shook their heads at her hair and makeup, but Kita refused to let them touch it. She wanted her hair looking simple and have only the barest of makeup, because today she was going to wear a different kind of makeup. When they started to object, Kita made her black roses appear.
"Wow, with your face like that those really do make you look creepy," Amber remarked over a handful of grapes.
"I thought Tina was going to fix all of that." Snowy protested, not sure why she and Sarin were getting a cold shoulder.
"She fixed the rest of it, this I want for...propaganda purposes. Soldiers like to see their commanders willing to get into harm's way. They also like to see that it takes a lot more than this to kill me."
"Can I at least fix your hair?"
"No." Kita said bluntly, causing Snowy to shrink from her.
"Commandant, you wished to see us?" General Thorne called with General Forrester and General Xeen behind him.
"Yes. Now that everyone's here we can get on with the day's activities. So follow me." Kita stood and headed for the door.
"Hello Uncle, how are things?" Kita asked as she passed Xeen.
