Chapter 22: "A Night on the town"

Lane sat in Lainey's room holding her tightly in the rocking chair, Liam had invited him to go to Molly's. But He declined. He had no babysitter. Britton had just had her baby boy Easton Shane. He was born on Febuary 14.

"Lane,Come on. I was going to go visit Britton before I went."

"I'll come. Let me get Lainey dressed. I'll call Cassie and ask if she would babysit."

"Thank you Man. I have someone I want you to meet." Lane scoffed as he opened Lainey's diaper.

"Oh come on Lainey, You had to do that. Ugh!" Liam laughed. Lainey cooed. Lane sat her up,and pulled out leggings and a long sleeve. Valentine's day shirt. Afterward he put socks on her tiny feet and a jacket on. He put a little hat on her head and grabbed her a pacifier and her diaper bag. He put her in carseat and walked out the door. He put her in the carseat then drove to the hospital. Liam and Rebecca were already there. Lane and Cassadee had been there all day. Lane walked to the maternity floor he passed Owen and Kelsie.

"How's Lainey?"

"She's good. She is sleeping and I do not want to wake her. Happy Valentine's Day!"

"Thanks. Owen forgot about it." Owen blushed then chuckled. Lane walked upstairs to the maternity floor. He asked for Britton Halstead. Lane knocked on the door before entering.

"Hey Britton, Lainey wanted to come visit her little cousin." Lane put Lainey's carseat on the couch and unbuckled her.

"Hey Cass,Do you think you could babysit?"

Lane smiled, and hugged his little sister. "I'll babysit if you pay me fifty bucks. Dad,Finn was supposed to come over."

"Finn,Can help you Cass. I need someone to babysit."

"Thanks. Go have fun. Lainey and I will have some fun." Cass held Lainey on her hip.

Lainey smiled. "Dada!" Everyone turned and looked at Lainey and smiled.

"She said Dada." yelled Lane

Britton held Easton close to her chest as Lane walked closer. "Can I hold him?"

Camille sat in the hospital bed holding her son. She hadn't chose a name for him yet. Jacie walked into the room and hugged her. "So What's his name?"

"I think it's going to be Taylor Andew Severide. TJ."

"I think Tyler would be proud."

"He would be proud." Tyler walked into the room with flowers in his hand.

Camille started crying as she put her arms up and hugged Tyler. "What happened?"

"A miracle that's what happened. I missed his birth but I'm sure as hell gonna be here for his life."

Camille handed Tyler his son. "I love you little T." He smiled then kissed his head.

"Mom,I leave tomorrow." Blaine said

"I know you do son. I am sending you. I'll see you in 5 years."

"Mom,I love you and I'm sorry for almost killing myself and Reese."

"I know you are sorry but you gotta be seriously sorry. I love you. Your Dad and I are going to Molly's tonight so you either stay here or go help Reese, Cass,and Finn babysit."

"I'll go babysit." Blaine ran to his room. Emerson opened the door for Ryan to come in.

"You and I are going out tonight."

"You sure?"

"Yeah. I am. Be ready for 6." Emerson kissed him goodbye.

"Uncle Lane loves you Easton."

"Lainey is the cutest Lane." said Rebecca

"Thanks. She's Daddy's Princess for sure." Later that day Lane went home and put Lainey in some pajamas then put her in her bouncer.

"Dada!" She started cooing. Lane started getting dressed for Molly's. Chris took over it. So they usually allowed the kids to go in as long as they didn't drink. Lane picked up his daughter, and opened the door. Jay-Luke and Camille walked in the door with Isaiah.

"Hey Guys! Where's your Mom and Dad?"
"They dropped us off. They said they had to get to Molly's. Where is Finn Blaine Reese and Cass?"

"They are coming." Before they knew it Cass walked into the door holding hands with Finn. Lane handed Lainey to Cass and walked out the door. She started crying.

"Lainey,daddy will be back." She cooed.

Lane drove to Molly's and walked in.
"Hey!" Lane saw everyone from work and the firehouse.

"Lane,I want you to meet Caroline."

"Hey Caroline!" Lane walked towards the bar.

"Becca,I think he found the one. His eyes lit up." Liam kissed Rebecca. He has been dating Rebecca for 3 years. He met her on a call.

"I'm Lane,before we start anything. My daughter is 7 months old. I just wanted to tell you that."

"Lane,I love kids." She smiled. He bought her a beer. Lane had finally got away from the diapers and bottles for a night. He was totally fine with it. He missed his little girl.
"Isaiah! Help me with Lainey!" yelled Blaine

Isaiah ran into the kitchen. "Dude. She's needs a bottle and needs to go to bed." Isaiah was handed Lainey and the bottle. He walked into her room and started rocking her to bed.

"Come on Laine,go to bed kiddo." She had finally went to bed when Finn started yelling at the TV.

"Finn! Really?"

"I'm sorry. I just got excited."

Isaiah scoffed and rolled his eyes. "You are on baby duty." He chuckled. Someone knocked on the door. Camille walked to the door and answered it.

"Lane called and said you might need help." said Emerson

"Yeah we do Em. Please help us." cried Reese

Finn handed Lainey to Emerson and let her put her to sleep. Lane started kissing Caroline and before they knew it they were in the bathroom locking the door and unzipping their clothes.
"Lane,you think we should?"

"It's fine right?" Lane kissed her some more. He picked her up and put her on the counter.

"You are gorgeous." Lane smiled.

"Have you seen Lane?" asked Liam everyone Liam had asked shook their heads no.

"He's been gone and I haven't seen Caroline either." Liam smirked at the last statement. Rebecca knew what he was talking about and made a disgusted face. She punched his shoulder.

"I have an announcement." He yelled. Lane decided to stop kissing Caroline and zipped back up. He knew his brother was proposing.

Everyone stood looking at Rebecca and Liam. Liam got a box out of his jacket and got down on one knee.
"Will you marry me?"
