Lacie drove to the kids' school and picked them up.
"Nannie,Where's my Dad?"

"At work. I'm gonna let you go see him."

"Finally. Mom hasn't been letting us see him. She said some bad stuff about him."

Lacie looked down at the kids. She took out her phone and called Brynley.
"Brynley,What the hell? Why do you keep talking bad about Lane? Last time I checked you were the one who cheated on him. You were the one who wanted a divorce. This isn't funny telling your kids this."

"Lacie,I"

"You can explain. Right. I thought we could still be friends but I guess not. I am going to come see Cass later but I don't know if I can."

Brynley hung up the phone.

Lacie went inside the preschool and picked up Emerson

"Mommy!"

Lacie opened her arms out wide and picked her up.
"Mommy missed you."

"I wanna go see Daddy and the firetrucks."

"Em,We'll go see him after we go see Uncle Lane." Lacie put Em in her carseat then drove to the district.

Lane sat in the break room watching Britton draw. Lacie walked up to Intelligence with the Kids.

"Uncle Lane!" yelled Emerson

"Hey Em. How's my favorite boys?"

"Dad,I got an invite to go to a baseball tournament." said Lane

"Lane, that is awesome bud. What about you Liam?"

"I got invited to a basketball tournament,so did Grey."

"Wow Grey."

Emerson walked into the break room and saw Britton.

"Mommy! Who is that?" Em pointed to her.

Lacie looked at Lane then back Emerson.

"Em, this is Britton. You can go play with her."

Lane Jr. and Liam walked up the steps.
"Dad!" yelled Lane and Liam

"I have missed you two." Lane Bent down and hugged them two.

"Dad,Why aren't you at home?"

"Bud,I'm staying with Uncle Matt for a while. You two are staying with me. Mom and I got a divorce. We aren't going to be living with each other anymore."

Erin and Jay stormed up the steps to Intelligence.

"Lane,What are you thinking?" demanded Jay

"Dad,I was born to be a hero like you and Mom. This little girl will go into the system until she's 18 if I don't help her. She needs someone. You and Mom saved me and Lacie. It's just not fair to her. I need to do this and I have never been more sure of myself. This little girl needs someone in her life to teach her these things. I wanna raise her. Grandpa would say go ahead because He knows I love helping kids. He knows that I would be a great father to this kid. Can you two at least be supportive. You two raised Lacie and I. You didn't have a choice since we are you actually kids. But not the point Dad."

"Lane,go ahead. Just don't let her get too attached to you."

A social worker from DCFS came walking up the steps.

"Lane Halstead." Lane shook his hand.

"Michael Reed."

"Does she have a Mom? Is she fostered?"
