The rogue looked at me after I told him what I wanted. He looked at me like I was a fool. As if I was some weak pup who wasn't ready for the real world yet. The
At was kind of true, as I wasn't 18 yet, but he didn't need to know that."No." That was all he said. And apparently he wasn't as scared anymore. He stopped shaking, and sat up straighter in the metal chair. In front of him was a metal table and two chairs that looked a little bit more comfortable than the one he was sitting in. Those were for Jack and I. We looked at each other and sat down.
The rogue was handcuffed and chained to the table that was drilled into the ground. He didn't look very comfortable, but that was fine with me. He wasn't here on vacation.
"Are you sure you don't want to try and answer again?" I asked, leaning forward a little bit. Jack was still growling beside me, and his wolf was still in control.
"No," he repeated.
That's it. That's all he said. Not an 'over my dead body' or 'why should I tell you?'. I just got 'no'.
Goddess, this is going to be awful. I never had a good relationship with patience. Mostly, I always exploded with anger when people disrespected me or someone I cared about. I know it's not a good trait to have, but I have it, so there's nothing I can do about it. And I didn't think Jack was going to be any different.
"Well, why not?" Jack asked. At the moment I was trying to calm myself down, so he could do the talking.
"What have you Alphas ever done to solve the problem of rogues? You know, besides killing us off."
"It's your own fault for committing crimes!" Jack replied.
"Okay, just give us the answers we need, and we'll let you go." I reasoned with him.
"Sure, I tell you what you want to know, then you still kill me. How dumb do you think I am?" The rogue had a point. I just got mad because that was my plan exactly.
"You are a smart one." I commented. "But, if you were really smart, you would realize that you aren't leaving here until we get what we need. And I know that a friend of mine has some pretty creative methods of getting information." It was true. According to Madi, Daniel was promoted to the Beta position early after successfully getting information out of rogues for years. I don't know how he did it, and I don't think I want to know. He had Beta blood, but unlike most people, he got the title when he was 16, unlike the average leader who took over when they were 18. Jack took over early, but he was 3 when his father died. So the Luna and previous Beta were the pack leaders.
The rogue visibly paled. Daniel was probably well known in the rogue world. But the he looked at me with the same defiant attitude as before.
"Well this friend of yours doesn't scare me." But he looked pretty uncertain at his own statement.
"We'll see about that." Jack said. I caught onto his plan. Let's see how fearless this rogue really is.
"What are you going to do? Call him?" He mocked.
"That's exactly what he did." Another voice said from the doorway. I turned and saw Daniel walk in and Madi close behind him. Jack didn't look to pleased to see that his mate and sister were in the prisons together with a possibly dangerous rogue. I didn't see the problem though. He had a broken neck and was chained with silver to the table. I could already see his skin burning. I know that the doctor said he was supposed to be kept in good condition, but I didn't care at the moment.
"Now, rogue. My friends and I want answers. I believe they have mentioned that to you. It's quite rude to keep to Alpha bloods waiting, don't you think?" Daniel mock scolded. He was playing around with the rogue. Like a predator playing with the pray. He was trying to scare the rogue into giving us answers.
"Both Alpha blood?" He gulped. It seemed like he figured out that he didn't have the best odds in this situation. There was three people with alpha blood in the same room as him, he was injured, and we have a professional interrogator.
"Fine, I'll tell you what you want to know. On one condition." He told us. He looked at all of us, looking directly into Jack's eyes. The guy had nerve, I had to admit it. But you should never look an Alpha in the eye, and Jack was getting mad.
I restrained him from attacking the rogue, whose name we still did not know. I motioned for him to continue.
The rogue smirked, and opened his mouth to tell us his condition.
Short chapter, sorry 😬
