The trip back to the pack house was dead silent. Leo, who was driving the car, was the most nervous one of all. He gripped the wheel so tight that his knuckles were slowly turning a different colour.

I imagined coming back home after the trip to the mall. Madi and I would be giggling like idiots and talking about the first things that popped into our heads. But when we saw the rogue, tension was pretty clear in the air. You knew if Madi wasn't talking, something was wrong.

The mall was close to the pack house, so soon enough we saw little kids running around and mothers sitting together talking. The Black Shadow pack had a lot of land. So as we pulled into the huge garage, we had already seen about 50 men doing patrols. I soon felt bad. I sorta knew Jack, and I knew he would double patrols after he heard a rogue was on his land. More men would have to be away from their families. All because I saw a stupid rogue in the mall.

Madi and I carried the clothes bags while the guards took up the other stuff for my room. Madi and I parted ways so she could take her things to her room. I told the guards I'd meet up with them after, and to just set my things on the floor. I knew Jack deserved to know about this.

I walked into his room.

"Jack?" I asked, seeing him sitting on his bed. I noticed he was reading a book. Jack didn't seem like the type to read. I pictured him as more of a movie kind of guy.

He closed the book and looked up at me.

"Yes?" He replied. When he noticed me he sat up a little straighter.

"Okay, so at the mall, therewasarogueandhesortatoldmeIhadtowatchmyback."

"Um, can you repeat that? Maybe a little slower?"

So I told Jack what happened. I'm just gonna say he wasn't to pleased and if you don't believe me, look at the hole in his wall. I felt bad for the people that would have to patch that up.

"Those stupid rogues! Always causing trouble. They need to be killed!" He growled. I stepped back from him a little. I noticed his usual blue eyes turn into a black colour. That meant his wolf was in control.

Not all rogues are killed, only the ones with red eyes. The ones without red eyes left for a good reason and are sometimes welcomed into different packs. The ones with the red eyes, like the one we saw at the mall, are the crazy ones.

"So, what do you think he meant, what is going to happen?" I asked, kind of worried.

"Who knows, but until then, you stay by me. Nothing is going to happen to my mate." Jack sounded very determined. I felt my heart flutter at his words. It felt magical to have someone care for me like that. I sighed when I noticed his eyes turn back to blue.

"I will stick with you like white on rice. Well, actually rice is only white until you put soy sauce on it, then it's kind of brown. But you get the point," I said, smiling at him. I was hoping to get rid of the mad vibes in the air.

Jack smiled, so my job was done.

"Come on, I'm hungry." I told him, tugging on his arm and walking to the kitchen.

After I ate with the Black Shadow pack, I concluded that they were very nice people. All of the ones I hadn't met yet were happy for Jack and very welcoming towards me. They were especially happy when I told them I had Alpha blood. That meant they would have stronger leaders than other packs.

I loved helping out in the kitchen too. The lady who cooks the food and does the dishes, Mrs. Anberg, was extremely nice and reminded me of my grandma. I loved this pack. Everyone was happy and felt like they had a purpose. There were no omegas, just like my pack.

The only disappointment at dinner was when we had to warn his pack about the rogues. Even though I just meant them, they got upset that someone planned on hurting their Luna. They were an amazingly loyal pack. But it made me sad because everyone was having such a good time until we told them the news. That was the second great mood of the day that was ruined because of me.

It, however, was sad when it was clear there was going to be a battle. I didn't like the feeling that I was the cause of possible death.

Just like Jack and I, males were telling there mates to stay by them. The crazy rouges were dangerous. Not one pack likes them.

After dinner I helped Mrs. Anberg clean up. I washed the dishes, she dried, and another kind looking girl put them away.

I honestly loved it here. I've never felt this welcomed, even at my old pack. I got weird looks being a female Alpha daughter, especially because most werewolf pairs have boys first. And I didn't have many friends, other than Mandy, because of how isolated my dad made me be. The only reason he trusted Mandy was because he knew that she knew how to fight. Her dad was a pack warrior. Mandy could end up protecting me if need be.

When the dishes were cleaned I walked back to my room. My remodelling project would have to be postponed. I also knew Jack would be more comfortable if I slept with him, or at least in the same room as him. I would probably choose the latter, I wasn't sure if I was ready to sleep with him yet. We only agreed to try things out yesterday. It would be a huge step in our relationship. One that I don't think I am ready to take.

I walked into Jack's room. He was pushing all the pillows off the couch. He then put a sheet and some blankets on it.

"Jack?" I asked. He turned around, startled at my sudden appearance.

"Yes, Eva?"

"Are you alright with me sleeping on the couch?" I asked.

"Well first of all, you are taking the bed. I'm on the couch. And secondly, I know your not ready yet, we can share a bed when you say so."

"Aw, thank you." I smiled at him. My chest swelled with pride. I was happy I got such a selfless mate, even if he did kidnap me. But those are minor details.

"Whatever makes you happy. Plus, as long as you are in the same room as me, I'm fine with it." Jack looked up and smiled at me.

"Well, goodnight." I said to him. I had already changed into my pyjamas. I was tired, so I knew I would fall asleep fast. But still, I crossed my fingers in hope that Jack doesn't snore.

"Goodnight, Eva." Jack replied. He sat down on the couch and I snuggled into his warm duvet on his bed. I knew I would have a good sleep tonight, his bed made me feel like I was laying on a bed of clouds. Plus, it smelt like him; woodsy and fresh.

Soon enough I heard his snores. They were soft, not loud. I was thankful for that. My dad always snored loudly and it kept me up for hours. I don't know how my mother fell asleep right beside him. I sometimes couldn't even sleep across the hall from him.

I yawned and closed my eyes. Sleep overtook me immediately.
