A/N please comment if you like this cover better... It'll really help a lot. Thanks!

I woke up before Jack. I was surprised, considering I wasn't an early bird. Still, it was nice just laying there in peace and quiet. I sighed in content. But of course, even though I was quiet, Jack was up, alert, and ready to fight. He had his hands out like he was the Karate Kid.

"What's wrong? What happened?" He fired questions off at me for couple of minutes. I waited until he was done. I just sat there, and when he finished, I rolled my eyes. Mates, always so protective.

"Are you done? Okay, I just sighed. Not a big deal." It wasn't even a sound of panic. It was just a sigh. And like I said, a content one at that. Nobody else was in the room, it was just us. I didn't know how he was so freaked out.

"Oh, yeah... I knew that." Jack said, the tips of his ears slowly turning red. His blush is so cute, it makes him look like a baby tomato.

"Sure, sure. Let's just go down and get breakfast." I suggested.

"Why not, I am in a pancakes mood this very fine morning." Jack responded, stretching because of (I'm assuming) his very uncomfortable night sleeping on a couch that was clearly too small for him. It would've been the perfect size for me, but he was such a sweet guy that he took the beige couch and left me the king size bed.

It surprised me how much my feelings for him already changed. I knew it was because of the Mate Bond, but it was still so surprising. I just called him a sweet guy, but two days ago I hated him. The Moon Goddess worked in mysterious ways, but she always made sure her werewolves ended up together.

I rolled out of his very comfortable bed. I landed with a thump on the ground. I stood up, instantly missing the warmth of Jack's thick duvet.

I walked over to Jack, and he threw his arm over my shoulder and I snuggled closer to his chest. Over the past 2 days Jack and I have gotten a lot closer. I'm really glad I wanted to give this whole relationship thing a try. It's kind of nice because Jack's body temperature is always so warm, so it's like having your own personal heater. My mom always told me that my dad was the same way.

We walked down the stairs getting looks from his pack mates. Most looked happy, probably because their Alpha found his mate, their Luna. Some looked jealous, though. Mostly girls, but honestly I don't blame the unmated females for being upset their hot Alpha was taken. I might be upset, too.

Technically I wasn't Luna yet, we'd need a ceremony for that, but it warmed my heart that his whole pack already treated me like one. My mom was very respected, and she said everyone in our pack made her smile every day with their kindness. I knew Black Shadow would be no different.

We strolled into the kitchen and there was already 2 plates stacked with pancakes on the island countertop. I guess I missed Jack mind linking someone to have these ready. I looked over at him, but he looked confused. He even started sniffing the pancakes, and he grabbed my wrist when I tried to take a bite out of one.

"What's wrong, Jack?" I asked.

"I never asked anyone to make these." He narrowed his eyes, as if he thought just looking at the pancakes would solve all his problems. I tried his solution as well, but I wasn't very lucky. It wasn't until I looked at the stack on the right that I found something.

It was a piece of paper sticking out from under one of the plates. I lifted the plate and pulled it out. I was shocked at what it said.

Ah, young love. The best kind there is. Two Alpha children being mates... What a 'happy' coincidence. Too bad that one of you is going to end up mateless soon.

By one of you, I mean Jack.

Evangeline, I suggest you sleep with one eye open, or else more people might be able to make their way into your room.

Sincerely,
The Rogue Alpha.

Attached to the bottom of the paper was a picture of Jack and I sleeping from last night. The window near his bed was open, and this picture was taken from a Polaroid camera.

The fact that someone broke into our room seemed to fuel Jack's anger. Because next thing I know there was a hole in the wall.

Again.

This guy really needs to control his temper if he wants the pack house to stay standing, he needs to stop punching walls. I also think that would hurt your fist.

I sat him down on the stool and went to get a first aid kit. When I returned, his eyes were pitch black, meaning his wolf was in full control. He took the kit out of my hands, and wrapped his arms around me. I allowed him to do this, as I knew his wolf needed it. He needed to know that I was there and I was alright.

He brushed my hair of my shoulder and put his head in my neck. He inhaled my scent, and I felt him immediately calm down. When I felt his canines grow, I lightly pushed his head away. I wasn't ready to marked yet.

"Down boy," I said with a small giggle.

What Jack was planning on doing was marking me. It's part of sealing the bond. A male marks a female by biting the place where her shoulder and neck meet. If Jack marked me, he'd be able to read my mind, and I could read his. We'd be able to feel each other's emotions, and we'd almost be truly mates. After marking you have sex, and I definitely wasn't ready for that. I'm not 18 yet.

After the mark is placed on the female's neck, it mixes the couple's scents and lets other wolves know that the mates are taken. But it also makes the female go into Heat. That's where she'll feel a burning pain that can only be stopped by a mate's touch, and it ends once they have sex. That's why I didn't want to be marked yet.

I picked the first aid kit up again and started bandaging his hand.

"I don't need this," he protested. "It'll heal soon on it's own anyways." He was talking about our enhanced healing abilities. I knew it would be better in a matter of minutes, but I just wanted to feel the sparks.

"Oh shush," I muttered, and I continued my work.

He didn't protest, and I think he wanted to feel the sparks, too.
