"Simon, we're going to be late." I sighed, leaning against the doorway of the front door. "Coming!" He yelled down the stairs. He then walked right past me and to his car, hopping in the driver's seat. I followed him a little slower, but still quickly. We were going to the doctor. And Simon was nervous. I could tell. The car was silent for a while until he sighed. "What do you reckon the gender will be?" He asked. "I have no idea." I shrugged. "I kind of hope it's a girl." He said quietly. I couldn't help but let out a small laugh and he glanced at me. "I'm sorry." I said, trying to compose myself. Then I burst out into laughter, and he remained silent. I cleared my throat, making myself stop laughing. "Uh..why do you want a girl?" I asked him, still trying not to laugh. He shrugged. "Why wouldn't I?" He asked. "I always just imagined you wanting a boy. You could teach him football tricks and play video games with him all day." I shrugged. "Why can't I do those things with a girl?" He asked. "Well, not all girls like those things." I shrugged. "You do." He pointed out. "Well, I grew up with Cal-" I started. "And this baby will grow up with us." He interrupted me. "True." I said, pointing at him. "And if I have a girl I can spoil her all I want." He said with a cocky grin. "We are not having a spoiled rotten child." I said. "We'll see." He smirked. I rolled my eyes. "Keep dreaming." I said.
"That's a girl." Janet beamed. I looked over at Simon, who was smiling excitedly. The nurse, who's name I learned was Janet, is the same nurse from last time. She said something about most likely being with me every time I go in. "Everything seems perfectly healthy and good. And you've gained a little bit of weight. Trying to say that the least offensive way possible. There is, however, a chance of a premature birth because of the fact that the baby is a little smaller than it should be, but that is highly unlikely so I soundly worry about that." She said, handing over the ultrasound picture. Simon snatched it away before I could even look at it. "Eager." Janet joked, wiping the gel off of my stomach. I sat up, waiting for Janet's instructions to leave. Simon was so happy. Which made me happy. She was writing down something on some paper, but I wasn't paying too much attention to that. "Okay. You're good to go. I'll call you when your next appointment rolls around." She said, looking back up at me. I nodded and slid off of the table. "Simon." I said. He snapped his head up from the picture, still smiling. And we left with that. When we got into the car, Simon handed me the picture. "I've never seen you this happy." I said, staring at him. "I'm so excited." He said, rubbing his hands together. "You're not scared anymore? Or worried? We still have to tell the fans and everyone else." I said. His face dropped slightly, but his smile soon returned. "Let's do that today." He said, nodding. "Today?!" I almost yelled. "Yeah. Why not?" He asked. "I-I don't know." I admitted, looking down at my lap. "Exactly." He said, starting the car. "Well, don't get too excited. Still got a while to go." I said, putting a hand on my stomach. "We have to choose a name." He pointed out, completely ignoring my last statement. I thought about this for a while. "I have the perfect name." I said as we pulled into the driveway. The time just completely flew by when I was thinking. "And that is?" He asked, wanting me to continue. "Karmyn." I smiled to myself. He smiled. "Karmyn Alexis Minter. I like it." He nodded to himself. "Why does she get your last name?" I asked, crossing my arms. "It's my baby." He said, pointing at my stomach. "It's mine too." I said, smirking. "She's not getting Josh's last name." He shook his head. "Good point." I shrugged, opening my car door. Simon jogged up to the house, holding the door open for me. "Guys! We're home!" He yelled up the stairs. There was no response, probably because no one really cared. Simon grabbed my hand and ran up the stairs, pulling me with him. He took me to his room and pointed at his spare chair, telling me to sit. "We're doing this now?" I asked, taking a seat. "It has to be now so I can't pussy out later." He said, grabbing his camera and tripod. I sighed as I plopped down in my designated chair, scooting closer to his desk chair. He sat down, the little red light blinking on the camera. "Hello guys. We are gathered here today to tell you guys something big. Very big. And no, we're not getting back together." He said, pointing at the camera. Simon grabbed my hand, which was out of shot, and gave it an encouraging squeeze. "I'm pregnant." I said, nodding. "Just here us out for a second. We know this is really confusing and may be too much for you guys with all of the stuff with JJ. It's way too much for us." He said, glancing at me. "You can say that again." I agreed. "It happened while we were still together and then we broke up and now here we are. Nothing is going to be changing between us, as of right now." He said, moving his free hand while he was talking. "Or ever." I added. He rolled his eyes, clearly not believing me. But I'm done with him. And I mean it. Maybe. No? Yeah? I just don't know anymore.
