It's my birthday. I just woke up. Everything has been good with Simon and I. And Karmyn's doing just fine. And her birthday is next month. (I know that that makes no sense given the time passed and everything, but just go with it.) There was a knock on my door and I smiled. "Yeah?" I said, loud enough for whoever it was to hear. Simon opened the door, smiling. "Happy birthday!" He yelled, smiling. "Thank you." I said. He plopped down on my bed beside me. "Good morning, beautiful." He said quietly, planting a small kiss on my forehead. "Good morning." I said, smiling at him. He looked over at the crib, but I kept my eyes on him. I just can't believe we're back together and happy. "I miss Karmyn already." He said, looking back at me and smiling. "Me too. I miss being woken up at every hour of the night." I joked. He chuckled lightly. "I love you." I said, smiling at him. "I love you too." He said, kissing my nose. "I'm going to go make breakfast. What do you want?" He said, sitting up slightly. "Could you make some waffles?" I said, sitting up and leaning against the headboard. "Of course." He smiled. "Happy birthday." He said one more time before getting up and leaving. I smiled to myself. I couldn't be happier right now.
"There's the birthday girl! Happy birthday!" Kay yelled as soon as I walked out of the bathroom. I had just gotten out of the shower. "Thanks." I said, starting down the stairs. I walked quickly down the stairs and into the kitchen, where I saw Simon putting a waffle on a plate. I smiled and walked behind him, wrapping my arms tightly around his waist. He jumped at the sudden touch, which made both of us laugh lightly. He turned around to face me, and I kept my arms wrapped tightly around him. "Someone's happy." He smirked. I smiled up at him. "Just well rested." I said. He chuckled and leaned down to connect his lips with mine. Someone clearing their throat behind us made us pull away. I turned around to see Josh, shaking his head. "Just because it's your birthday doesn't mean you can suck Simon's face off in the kitchen where we eat." He said, still shaking his head. "Fuck off." I muttered, rolling my eyes. "Don't get an attitude with your father." He said in a proper accent. My eyes lit up. "I'm an adult now! Fuck you, DAD!" I yelled, laughing. He laughed. "Happy birthday." He said after he stopped laughing. "Thanks." I smiled, grabbing the plate that Simon made me and going to sit at the island. "Good morning." Vik's tired voice came from the doorway. We all barely glanced over. "Good morning." Josh replied for all of us as I started eating. "Happy birthday, Mackenzie." Vik said after grabbing a water bottle from the fridge. I nodded in response because I had a mouthful. "Where's Kay and Freya?" Simon asked, taking a seat beside me with his own waffle. "Kay's showering." Vik shrugged. "Freya is probably just waking up." Josh said with a small sigh. Then, I heard the front door open. "CYBORG! THE PARTY HAS ARRIVED!" I heard Ethan yell. It had to be him, he was the only one who called me that. "Kitchen!" I yelled, smiling. Tobi walked in first. "Happy birthday!" He yelled, instantly giving me a hug. "Thank you." I said, pulling away from the hug with him. Ethan walked in next, a bottle of Vodka in his hands. I rolled my eyes. "Happy birthday, Cyborg!" He yelled, putting the bottle down. "Thank you, Ethan." I said, glaring at the bottle. "JJ texted me. He and Isabella are coming later with Harry and Cal." Tobi said, snatching a strawberry off of my plate. "So, we going out?" Ethan smirked, sitting down. I shrugged. "Up to you guys." I said, taking a sip of orange juice that Simon poured for me. "That means she doesn't want to." Simon spoke up, speaking matter of factly. "No it doesn't. It means I don't care what we do." I lied. The truth was, I didn't want to go out. I would much rather just chill here and drink maybe. "We can just hang out here." Vik suggested. I nodded, smiling. "That's what she wants to do." Josh said, pointing at me. "Can we still drink?" Ethan asked, sounding slightly disappointed. "Yes, Ethan, we can still drink." Tobi said, shaking his head. Then, the front door opened once more. "WHERE'S EVERYONE AT?!" JJ's voice echoed throughout the house. "Kitchen!" Ethan and Tobi yelled in unison. Soon, Cal, Harry, Isabella, and JJ piled into the kitchen. "Happy birthday!" Cal said, patting my back. I smiled in response. "Happy birthday, girl." Isabella said, much quieter than everyone else, hugging me lightly. "Thanks." I said, matching her tone. "Happy birthday!" Harry yelled, looking in the fridge. I giggled at what he was doing. "Happy birthday." JJ said, sounding way too bored. "Gee, thanks, JJ. I would hate for you to show any enthusiasm at all." I said, matching his monotone. He chuckled, causing me to laugh. "Why the fuck is everyone yelling this early?!" Freya's voice came from the doorway. "It's Mackenzie's birthday!" Harry yelled, closing the fridge. "And it's one." Vik chuckled. "Happy birthday." Freya mumbled, rubbing her eyes. "Thanks." I smiled. Kay finally entered the kitchen, a giant smile on her face. She greeted Vik with a small kiss on his cheek. I looked around at everyone. My family. God, I love them. Let's hope we don't have too much fun tonight.
