There were some things you could easily declare your love to, like you could declare that you loved a certain color.

But confessing to someone that you love them? You had to be sure because once that confession is made, its hard to take it back.

You sat back in the dark room, inchy ropes around your hands and feet.

How do you possibly know that you love someone? I mean, you can love your parents and siblings because that makes sense... somehow. But to a stranger? Someone you know that doesn't have to deal with you like your family has to? That's a whole other level.

The smoke that filled the room hadn't cleared out, you wondered how you were still breathing.

Isn't it easier to love smaller things about people? In a heartbeat, you can confess that you loved Natasha's red hair and her sassy replies. You loved her witty behavior and her laugh that she didn't use much.

But did you love Natasha? Maybe you could confess quicker if you knew what love actually was.

Your eyes felt heavy but your mind raced.

You loved playing hero, but that's completely different from loving someone.

So does that mean that you don't love Natasha?

The sound of people falling and gun shots filled the air.

No, you loved a lot of things about Natasha.

But for some reason, you couldn't fin yourself looking into her eyes and whispering the words 'I love you'. You've only known her since the summer!

Light feet found their way to you and a slightly cold hand touched your cheek.

Love wasn't something you knew automatically.

Love came slow, so maybe the word your looking for it 'like'.

"Y/n?" Natasha's voice dragged you out of your mind.

"Hm?" You muttered, opening your eyes more and seeing concerned eyes above you. "You know I like you very much."

Natasha failed to hide her grin.

"Okay?" You whispered before falling into complete sleep.

"Okay."
