//Steve is going to show up so far in the end that you guys are gonna hate me\\
Looking up to the darken sky, you rubbed your eyes tiredly.
"Y/n, would ya come in already?" A groggy voice asked, you sat up on the grass.
"Give me a minute, you don't get a view like this all the time." You smiled, avoiding your 'boyfriends' burning stare.
"Whatever, I'm going to bed." The door closed behind him and you shook your head.
Things hadn't always been so distant with your boyfriend, at least not two years ago when you started dating. But somewhere along the line, the butterflies died and the spark went down too.
Reasons you decided to go out on a vacation with him and try to fix whatever was missing from the relationship.
The sky had finally darken to the twinkling stars over the country side.
"What the..." You scrunched up your nose at the sight of the stars acting weird. "Oh my, it's a falling star!" You scrabbled up and grinned cheekily at the sight.
Why does it seem like it's falling near me?
Shaking your head, you turned around and starting walking to the house.
CLANK.
You stopped walking and turned around.
In all its glory, the famous shield held its spot a bit inside the ground.
"Y/n?" Your boyfriends head stuck outside the window. "What was that?"
You stood infront of the shield and shrugged.
"I don't know."
"Hmm." He frowned before turning away. Pulling out the shield, you held it in your hand and grinned like a manic.
"I can't believe it." You whispered, running your hands over the rough and dirty cover. Pulling it inside the rented house, you slide it in a closet and tossed a blanket over it.
Hoping that your boyfriend won't find it.
The next morning, after b/n greeted you and then headed out for his daily run, you pulled the shield out of its hiding spot.
"Sweet Jesus, this one is a keeper." You muttered, placing it in the center of the table, you examined it over again.
The shield was heavy with dirt, you realized that after dragging your finger across the star. Dunking it into soap and water, you begun the long process of cleaning it.
Humming to the old radio, you stepped and admired your handiwork.
"Y/n?" Your boyfriend called, you picked up the shield and tossed it under the table.
"Um, y-yeah!" You choked out, kicking the shield a little bit deeper under the table.
"We need to talk."
Apparently that was one of the worst talks you've had, based on the fact that you just broke up with your boyfriend.
"I mean, it's not my fault his never replying to his text!" You explained to the shield, before sinking the spoon back into the ice cream. Throwing your head back, you put the ice cream back on the bedside table. "I am losing my shit, I am complaining about my break up to a shield." You picked up the shield and held it arms distance away. "Tell me, how does it feel to be in the grasp of THE Captain America?"
You put it down. "Well, little guy or girl, I don't think Cap would mind if I kept you in my hands for a little while." Placing the shield next to your bed, you turned off the light and grabbed the covers. "I'm losing my shit."
