I sat in a field of daisies. The sky was a bright blue and the white clouds were as fluffy as cotton candy. I was sitting with my knees in front of me. I wore a dress to my knees that was a pastel pink. I watched colorful butterflies flying around and enjoyed the chirping of birds in a distance. That's when I felt arms wrap around me from behind. I turned to look who was behind me and I saw Rin. I smiled at him and he smiled back. Then he sat down beside me. We enjoyed the sounds around us until I heard an awful beeping.
I sat up in bed quickly. Did I just dream about Rin? I just met him and... What's wrong with me. I feel all warm inside and my hearts pounding. I shook my head and jumped out of my bed. I ran to the bathroom and splashed some water on my face. I looked at my reflection through the mirror. My black ombre blue hair was a complete mess. I quickly began combing it. I put on my uniform and headed to breakfast with Hoshi.
"What's wrong Princess? You looked worried when you jumped out of bed."
I can't tell Hoshi. I wouldn't hear the end of it from him.
"It's nothing, Hoshi," I said trying to play it cool.
"Alright," Hoshi said in a tone of disbelief.
The cafeteria was deserted except for the two boys in the corner.
I feel kind of awkward. I know it's rude of me to think this but, can't there be a time where I don't see them.
I received my breakfast and made my way to their table.
"Good morning!" Yukio said with a smile.
"Hey 'morning!" Rin smiled.
I felt myself blush as I returned the hellos. I ate my lunch and shared half with Hoshi. After Hoshi left, we started going to class. We talked about exorcism and some of the missions that Yukio had taken Rin to.
We arrived in class at about the same time as yesterday. I walked over to the boys that Renzo hung out and introduced myself properly.
"Hi! I didn't really introduce myself well yesterday. I'm Kasumi," I said with a smile sticking my hand out.
"Listen, demon. I don't care who you are! This is a class for exorcists not demons! I don't know how or why you're here, all I know is that you should get out!" The boy with the spiky hair yelled.
"Suguro, man, calm down," Renzo said nervously.
"No! We had to earn our way in! She just pranced in and decided to become an exorcist!" Suguro yelled.
"You better shut your mouth before you go making wild assumptions. I want to become an exorcist because I want to protect people. I don't want to see anyone hurt," I said as calmly as possible while grabbing a seat and sitting beside them.
"Before I came here the person I held dearest had died. I saw everything. The demon slit her throat and made me write a message in her blood. I couldn't do anything to help her. Do you even know how guilty I felt? I couldn't do anything to save her!" I said feeling my voice start to rise.
"Not only that, but the day before I came here that same demon had trapped me. I was going to die! Thanks to my familiar I was saved. Had he not been there then I still would have been stuck there! I didn't want to be born a demon. I was mocked and I wasn't allowed near anyone!" I finished sinking in my seat.
I felt someone rubbing my shoulder. I turned to look and Rin was there. His hand borough comfort to me and I immediately calmed down. Now they'll hate me for sure. I just burst. I'll never gain their trust or respect now.
