*Next Day*

Two eyes opened. Their owner blinked a few times before realizing they could actually see. They weren't in the void anymore. They lifted their arm and they were surprised that it actually moved. They shifted their body and smiled as they sat up. They moved their arm again, looking at it. Odd, they had thought that their stripes had been slimmer? And that their fingers were shorter?

A deep voice behind her chuckled, and she whipped around to see who it was.

He looked familiar, but she had a feeling it wasn't the same person as the man she knew. "I'm glad you're awake. The name is Fenix, but that's Uncle Fenix to you.", the person said, and she wanted to ask what had happened, but she couldn't.

"Can you talk?", he asked, and she opened her mouth to speak, but it only came out in babbling. "Sorry about that, I'll just upload how to do that for you.", he said, and opened up her back, and began to upload information into her...memory card? Yeah, that sounded right. "How about now?", he asked, and she opened her mouth.

"Where am I?", she asked, and Fenix smiled. "You're in the Parts & Services, this is where animatronics like us come to be fixed when we're broken.", the tiger explained. "Can you remember anything?", he asked, and she nodded. "The darkness.", she replied, and Fenix frowned. "Anything before the darkness?", he asked, and she focused hard to remember. "I remember Mommy. She always helped me when I didn't feel good. She made the hurt go away.", she smiled, remembering the happy memories. Fenix smiled back. "Do you remember your name?", he asked, and she nodded. "My name is Peppermint.", she replied, her brown eyes sparkling with pride.

"Good. Now do you remember anything from the darkness?", Fenix asked, and Peppermint sorted through her memories, she had to sort through what was real and what wasn't. "I remember Mommy's voice. She would always talk to me about Grandma and Grandpa, my big sisters, my little sisters and brother, my nephews and nieces, my Aunt Maggie, my Uncle Fe-oh. Hi!", Peppermint chirped, and Fenix chuckled.

"Do you remember what happened before the darkness?", Fenix asked nervously, and Peppermint thought before nodding. "I remember Mommy getting sadder and sadder. And I remember hurting more and more. And I remember closing my eyes, but when I opened them, I was in the darkness. What happened?", she asked, and Fenix sighed.

"Peppermint, when you were born, you were very weak and sick. Your endoskeleton was really fragile, and could only support your weight at a certain age. That age was three months. You got worse, and you died. That was over twenty five years ago.", Fenix explained, and Peppermint looked down at the floor. She had died? Is that why Mommy had said she wished that Peppermint was with her? Why had she been sick? Did she do something wrong? "Why was I born sick? Did I do something wrong?", she asked, and Fenix shook his head. "No, the horrible person that made you was greedy, and cheap. And you and your mommy had to pay for his mistakes. Don't worry, your Uncle Horus made sure he paid for his mistakes. But now you have a new, healthier body, which is much stronger, but you can still get sick very easily, so we're probably going to have to give you medicine for a while.", Fenix explained, and Peppermint sighed. At least she was alive, right?

Then Peppermint seemed to remember something. "Can I see Mommy? Where is she? I want to hear her voice again.", Peppermint asked, eyes bright with excitement. She could see! She could see Mommy again! "Yep, lets go see her.", Fenix said, and held Peppermint's hand as she got down from the table. As soon as her feet held her weight however, she fell. Fenix caught her before she could fall all the way, and helped her back onto the table. Peppermint was disheartened, and looked like she was about to cry. "Don't worry! I'll just bring her to you instead! She'll be so happy to see you.", Fenix assured, and Peppermint calmed down. She didn't know that Mommy could just come see her. After Fenix left, Peppermint reached for a shelf, grabbed it, and got off the table slowly. She began to walk along the walls, supporting herself with the shelves just in case. She had to at least try again.
