Chpt. 61 (Meanwhile)

*Same Day*

Mei was panicking. She was pregnant. Of course she was pregnant! With her luck, of course the rubber would break! Of course!

It had been two weeks since she and Willow had sex, and she had started to have symptoms. She started to stress out, and used a test. 

And it was positive.

She made her way to the room she shared with Willow. She figured it would be best to tell him now just in case the symptoms gave it away anyway. When she walked in, Willow was reading a book about paleontology, and he was studying the relations of dinosaurs and birds. He looked up from his book when Mei walked in, and he smiled. "Hey sweetie, what's up?", he asked, and Mei gulped. "I'm pregnant.", she said, showing him the test. Willow's eyes widened. "Woah. But we used a rubber, right?", he asked, and Mei nodded. "I figured it probably either ripped or something. But rest assured, it's absolutely your's.", she said, and Willow stood up and hugged her. "So you aren't stressed out about this?", she asked, and Willow chuckled. "Of course I am. Having a baby is a huge responsibility, it takes a lot of work, and I know you're going to put me through hell these next months.", he said, and Mei pulled out of the hug. "What is that supposed to mean?", she asked, and Willow chuckled.

"Three reasons. One is that our child has the Burning Rage, so while you won't get it while pregnant like those who have Blood Rage children do, it'll make you a little grumpy until you get used to it. Two is that your hormones are going to kick my ass when they start swinging.", Willow said, and Mei sighed. "And what's the third reason?", she asked, and Willow chuckled. "The third reason is that I'm not letting you lift a toe while your pregnant so you can rest.", he said, and Mei paled. "What!? No! Willow it's only been two weeks!", she retorted, but Willow shook his head. "Sorry, but our baby is going to be the embodiment of health, and so are you. You're not going to break a sweat as long as I have anything to say about it.", Willow said, and Mei groaned in annoyance as he picked her up and put her on the bed. 

"Now I'm going to go get you some cookies.", Willow said leaving the room. Mei was confused. She hadn't asked for cookies, why was he getting her that when she might crave something else? Did he know anything about pregnancy? 

Willow came back with a plate of cookies and a glass of lemon water. "Here you go, my love. I'll have my Great Aunt Maggie send some more over soon so that we don't run out.", he said, and Mei raised an eyebrow. "Willow, why did you get me cookies? I like cookies, but it's too early to even start having cravings.", she said, and looked at the plate. "But since you tried, I'll have some anyway.", she said, taking a cookie and eating it. Her eyes widened at the amazing taste. She immediately ate three more cookies, absolutely loving them. "What is in these?!", she asked, and Willow chuckled. "Mint and chocolate chip. An old family recipe. I got them for you because any Alidine descendant or anyone that is pregnant with an Alidine descendant will crave those cookies at some point.", Willow explained, and Mei moaned as she ate another cookie. Willow smirked.

She thought he didn't know what he was doing.

*Winter's Place*

Winter was in the kitchen, cooking. Frost walked in and Winter chuckled at his tired expression. "She wearing you out?", he asked his son, who nodded. "That's what happens when you get with a Longfang. Don't say I didn't warn you.", Winter smirked, and Frost sighed. "I know, but it's insanity. I love her, but she smacked me in the face at Saber's wedding for breathing to hard!", he ranted, and Winter laughed. "Well then don't breathe that hard!", he chuckled, and Frost sighed. "But she had already gotten on my case about that three times that day! I was barely getting enough oxygen I was breathing so lightly!", Frost sighed, and Winter laughed. "Well, you might want to get back to her.", he said, and Frost nodded. And just as Frost was about to leave, Winter caught his attention. Frost turned to see what his father was about to say, and Winter sneered. "Remember to breathe lightly.", the father teased, and Frost groaned as he walked out, leaving Winter in tears from laughing so hard.
