Chpt. 6 (Loss of Friends)

*A Couple Weeks Later*

"Bye everyone!", Alice called, and everyone waved goodbye to Alice and her mother. The two were going to Alena's wedding, and Alice was going to stay at Horus' place for awhile because Aleene said that she had a feeling that Alena would need the help later on. The girls and Jake walked out and got into the car, and Jake drove them to the wedding.

Aleene sat down in the car and put on her seat belt. "I can't believe Alena is getting married mom.", Alice said as they began to drive down the road. "I know, it's so soon, but I trust Revan to take good care of her, he is Horus' son after all, and you saw how he treats Shay.", Aleene said to her daughter, and Alice smiled. "I know, I just can't wait to see everyone again, and meet everyone from...uh...what's the restaurant Shay was born in again? I know they're family is made of foxes, rabbits, bears and chickens.", Alice asked her mother, unable to remember the name of the restaurant. "Freddy Fazbear's Pizzaria. And be careful Alice. From what I was told, there's some boys who are out for girls to date by looks, not by heart.", Aleene warned her daughter, and Alice growled. "Are you talking about Riley? Alena told me about him and how he made Revan break that bitch's heart.", Alice asked, her voice dropping to a low tone at the mention of both Riley and Amethyst. "You got it. I'm worried about Amethyst though.", Aleene said, and Alice tilted her head, "What do you mean?" "I mean Amethyst might try to stop Alena from marrying Revan, or sabotage it in some way.", the mother informed her daughter, who gasped. "But...she can't do that! Alena's the happiest she's ever been! And she's 10 times better than that rodent!", Alice said, and Aleene shook her head. "Don't say things like that. I'm sure there's already a plan to keep her quiet, and besides, Revan is loyal to Alena. Not to mention she's pregnant with his kids.", Aleene said, and Alice's jaw dropped. "Alena's pregnant? Why didn't you tell me?", she said, and Aleene chuckled, "Sorry, slipped my mind.", and Alice rolled her eyes and said, "You're lucky we're on our way to a wedding."

"Whewe's mama goin'?", Quill asked Oak, who was going to take care of Quill while Alice was gone. "Mommy's going to your Aunty Alena's wedding.", the panda said with a smile. "Aunty Alena?", Quill asked, tilting his head. "Who Aunty Alena?", Quill asked again, and Oak was confused until Onix spoke up, "Quill hasn't met his aunt yet, you're the first person outside of Alice, Aleene, Lucky and I that he trusts, he isn't stable enough to meet her." "Not stable? What do you mean?", Onix's face turned grim as he gently took Quill from Oak and passed him to Lucky, "Lucky, go play with Quill in his room, I'm going to explain how Quill got here to those who want to listen." Lucky nodded, and quickly ran to Quill's room, Quill giggling the entire time. "Okay, so whoever is confused about Quill and why he doesn't trust anyone should gather around and listen.", Onix said, and all of the newcomers sat at the table Onix was at, Aloe sitting next to him.

"About a month or so ago, Alice was painting a picture for my birthday. She was thinking to herself until, according to her, she just got up and started walking towards the front door. She doesn't know why, but she couldn't control her legs. So she walked out of the front door, across the street, and into the forest nearby.", Onix said, until Turquoise interrupted him. "What do you mean, 'she couldn't control her legs'? That's a stupid thing to do, just walk out without telling anyone, what if something happened to her?", she was about to continue until Spectrum held up his hand. "Let him finish, he'll probably answer your questions.", the lizard said, and Onix nodded to him in thanks. "Eventually, she began to grow angry. Angry because she couldn't control where she was going, because she had no idea where she was going, and that she didn't know why. Eventually, she began screaming at nothing, her anger getting the better of her. So much so that she didn't realize her feet had stopped walking. It wasn't until that she saw Quill crying on the ground, sobbing, that she stopped. She tried to reach out to him, but he shifted away from her. When she tried again, however, Quill didn't resist. She picked him up, and he seemed to fall asleep in her arms. She felt a warm liquid pool in her arms, and she thought he had wet himself. She turned him over to ask if he needed a diaper, but it wasn't pee in her arms, it was blood.", Onix paused when everyone gasped, and Mahogany asked, "She didn't see a wound before?" "No, Quill was covering it to protect it. So Alice panicked and ran back, kicked the door open where she found us, about to throw a search party, and yelled for Jake to help her. Turns out, someone had stabbed Quill. If Alice had been a minute too late, Quill would've died. Aleene and Jake operated on him, and he was fine. Except for one thing.", Onix paused and wiped a few tears from his eyes, the sad story of how Quill came into their lives still broke his heart, "He was mentally broken. He only trusted three people at the time, Alice, Lucky and I, in order of his preferred. But really, he only really trusted Alice, he was still slightly uncomfortable around Lucky and I, and was terrified of Maggie and Aleene. He honestly still doesn't like Maggie all that much unfortunately, and Oak is the first stranger he's trusted. And as you can see, he doesn't trust anyone else...", he finished, and a couple people had to wipe tears from their cheeks as well.
