He slowly let me go and I looked back to see Daryl. I pushed him annoyed. "You scared me." "I can't get you alone any other way." "Telling me would be a good move. Now what's wrong?" He shrugged and rubbed the back of his neck. I leaned against the wall and he got in front of me. We looked up at each other feeling our breath on our faces. My heart was beating so loud I prayed he wouldn't hear it. "You gonna kiss me or not?" I smirked and he pressed his lips against mine. He dug his nails into my neck slightly. It made me wonder if he knew his own strength or not. His tongue trailed along my lip but I didn't let him in. A growl fell from his lips but I didn't budge. He gave up and trailed his lips down my neck. I smiled and took in his woodsy scent. It was intoxicating on him. I could feel him smile against my skin when I let out a soft moan. "Fine Dixon you win." He came back up and kissed me again this time I let him in knowing he's all I wanted in this damn world. We heard something snap and he jumped away from me and hurried off. Maggie came around the corner but stopped when she saw my face. "What's wrong?" "I was with Dixon.." She smiled and stood next to me. "Did you kiss him?" "I was in the middle of it when you decided to walk on by." She laughed and we walked in together. "Is he any good?" "He's amazing but he's hesitant almost like he's worried about hurting me." "That's adorable."
I smiled and walked in my cell. I sat down and kicked off my boots. I laid back on my bed and stared up at the bed above me. I was almost asleep when I heard someone walking by. I sat up and saw Carl walking down the stairs. I slid my boots on and followed him out. He walked out of the gate and down to the graves. I followed him killing the walkers in the field. I looked over and saw him not paying attention. I threw my knife behind him and killed the walker. He turned around with his gun out shaking. I walked up and pulled the knife out of its skull. I put my hand on his shoulder and gave him a small smile. "You know your mom loved you Carl. She was proud of you." "I don't think she was." I kneeled down in front of him with my hands on his shoulders. "She was and your father is too. He just doesn't understand your reasoning. I promise you it will all make sense one day." He put his arms around me and started to cry. It's about time he cried for his mother.
I walked back inside with him and went to check on the barrier. I had the flashlight on in front of me watching for any movement. I came to the door and pulled against it but it didn't budge. I turned around and ran into someone. My eyes widened when the light was knocked out of my hands. I went to scream but he threw his hand over my mouth. I tried to get away until a knife was pressed against my throat. He slammed my hands above my head and squeezed my wrists tightly. I turned my face away from him and felt my shirt rip. I finally let out a bit of a scream before his hand was over my mouth again. I heard running and he dropped me to the ground. A light went across me not too long after. "Grace.." "Don't worry about me. He ran that way." Daryl looked at me and ran down the other corridor. I leaned against the wall and put my face in my hands.
Daryl came back and started to take off his shirt. He handed it to me but I wouldn't take it. He rolled his eyes and tossed it over my shoulder. I put it on and he walked me back to the cell block. He picked me up and went up the stairs. He laid me on his bed and went to talk to Rick. I curled up in a ball and covered my face. I felt someone lay down next to me and jumped. Daryl grabbed my hands and looked at the bruises forming on my wrists. He slowly brought them to his lips and kissed them lightly. I slid his shirt off and cuddled up into his chest. "Thank you for saving me.. again." "I'll always save you Grace." I nodded and he wrapped his arms around me.
I woke up in Daryl's bed not wanting to get up. I looked over at him and he was distracted by tracing the scars on my back. I gave him a small smile wishing I remembered about that. "I should go. We don't want them to see us together." "Yeah.." I put his shirt on and went to walk out. I stopped and grabbed my jacket. I reached in the pocket and found my lighter. "Where's my rosary?" He took them out of his pocket and handed them to me. "I forgot about them." I walked out and went to my cell. I changed clothes and fixed my hair. I looked down at my wrists and shook my head. I tied a bandana around the worst one and held my rosary in my hands before putting it back on. I walked out of my cell and went outside for a smoke. A few people were walking around the courtyard. I sat against the wall and some guy walked over. "Got another one?" I nodded and handed him one. "I'm Cole." "Grace." "You military?" "I was in the Marines."
