I hit the town we always go to for supplies by morning. It was an hour away still but I was ready to be back. If Daryl isn't there I don't know what I'll do. I never got a chance to change because of the walkers and by the time I got a safe spot and found clothes I would be stuck. I killed a few walkers on the way and I whistled loudly getting someone's attention to open the gate. I got to the next one and Carl came running. "You're in a wedding dress." "Tell me something I don't know. Are they here?" He nodded and I got off the horse. Rick watched me run by and into the prison. Maggie looked over and smiled when she saw me. Everyone stared at me still in my wedding dress. Daryl turned around and I ran to him. I threw my arms around him and started crying. I honestly thought I wasn't going to see him again. "We still need to kiss ya know." "I can do that." I smiled and leaned up to kiss him. My family stood behind me and clapped. It made me feel a bit better. I was standing with my husband after being separated for hours not knowing if the other was dead or not or if they were even where we were going.
I took my old cell and tossed my stuff down. Rick came in and leaned against the wall. "Maggie told us about what you did for her." "Like what?" "Saved her life, gave her a wedding she deserved, everything." "She's family." "How are you so calm? Maggie had an amazing wedding and yours got interrupted and didn't even get to finish."
"Its not the wedding that mattered. I didn't need one at all I just needed to call him my husband. Ya it got interrupted but it doesn't matter to me. We're all safe and back where we belong. I owe that to you Rick. You kept this place going." We shared a hug and he walked away. I had to step back out and catch up with everyone before I got changed. I just couldn't wait. Daryl on the other hand was back to his usual clothes which was fine with me. I enjoyed being back. I was slightly still on edge about what happened. Daryl and I slipped away and went to the guard tower. I put my arms around him and pulled him close to me. I smiled when he started to dance with me. "Best wedding ever huh?" "It was perfect." I smiled and buried my face into his neck. "You looked badass on the horse you know." "Who else do you know that can shoot an assault rifle while riding a horse in her wedding dress?" He laughed making butterflies in my stomach.
As I laid on the cold concrete Daryl continued to kiss my neck. I watched his muscles move as he went farther down to my stomach. I looked down at him when he gently bit me. "I've been waiting to do that." I smiled and pulled him up to my lips. He flipped us over and I got the chance to kiss his neck. "They know what we're doing up here." "Do you want me to stop, Daryl?" "Hell no." I smiled and laid on him. "What's wrong?" "Nothing just thinking about what happened. You didn't even argue about going back to the prison without me."
"Because I knew you would come back." "You didn't know for sure." I got off him and looked out the window. I felt his eyes scanning over the back of me. He got up and put his arms around my waist. "You look beautiful." I turned to face him and put my hands on his chest. "I love you Daryl." "Love ya too, Mrs. Dixon." "Has a nice ring to it." I grabbed one of shirts and put it on. "Why are you wearing layers?" He shrugged and got dressed. I folded my dress over my arm and went back inside the prison. We got back to my cell without anyone seeing and I got changed. Maggie walked in and I looked down at my dress. "What should I do with it?" "I cut a few piece of fabric off mine so I can keep some of it and remember. I opened my bag and smiled down at the photos on top. "I forgot he took these." Maggie looked at them with me smiling at the pictures of Daryl and I. "This is so sweet." I nodded and put another photo behind the rest. "He got one of you two." I handed the one of her and Glenn just married. "I'm going to go show him." I nodded and put the rest back in my bag. I took out my knife and looked down at the perfect dress. I made the first cut through the corset and started cutting the pieces to keep. It was a smart move on Maggie's part. It's not like I can lug this thing around.
