Chapter 1
*Tia’s POV*
The sound of my alarm clock wakes me from a blissful sleep. I sit up turn my clock off and look at the time. Six thirty AM. An early morning can only mean one thing. A new term at City College Norwich and the first day of Music and performing art studies. Second year. I peel the bed sheets away from my bed and swung my legs out to get up. I let out a little yawn and stretch before grabbing the clothes I wanted to wear that day and hopping in the shower. At first the water was cold which woke me up more but then I started to relax and enjoy the water trickling down my back and through my hair. When I was done I stepped out and got dressed. I went to my phone and turned it on. As I walked down the stairs to make myself a cuppa my phone vibrated to say I had had two missed calls. Both from my best friend Kerry. I smiled when her name popped up. Kerry and I had been friends since junior school. We both had a passion for music. We both get the lead singing roles in musicals and we would be headlining acts in school concerts. I decided to call her since it was only 7AM and she did call about an hour ago. I sipped my tea as the phone rang and she answered “what time do you call this! I was up at 6AM. What have you been doing?” she asked down the phone “it is this thing where you get into a box and you turn on a tap and water comes out? You know a shower?” I said sarcastically “it takes you an hour to shower?! Wow!” she shouted down the phone. I loved Kerry with all my heart but she couldn’t half be blonde sometimes and she could talk for England! “No you tard! I woke up at half 6” I told her. She muttered an “oh” down the phone then continued “so what time you getting the bus! Aren’t you excited about seeing Tom Ashley and the others! I know I am” she asked me as I took a swig of my tea and packed my music books and purse in my bag “yeah, me too. I wonder what Jade has in stall for us today.” I tell Kerry. Jade was our music tutor and we also have Nick who is our drama tutor. At college we call them by their first names “I really hope she doesn’t get us singing scales! You know I can’t sing for shit Tia!” “Then why did you do this course?” I joked with her again “because, I love drama and I can play keyboard and cos I want to go on to do something in the music and drama business” she told me “then stop complaining!” I joked with her again. I looked at the clock and realised that Kerry and I had been talking for fifteen minutes. “Kerry? Are you actually ready?” I asked “yeah I am. I am at bus stop.” She told me. “Why did you not tell me?” I asked her slightly frustrated “cos I thought you were ready. Anyway I will talk in a bit” she said as I said goodbye and hung up my mobile. I slipped my mobile in my bag, made sure I had enough money for lunch and bus fare. I picked up my back and grabbed a bit of fruit and ran out of the door. Today was going to be a very busy day
*Kerry’s POV*
As I was waiting for Tia to walk to the bus stop I plugged in my iPod and started to play this song (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SGlkwKA-t_4) I absolutely loved rapping Danny and Mark’s parts cos it just meant so much. I get told by Jade and the other girls and guys that I am really good but I don’t think I am. As I was lost in the words I didn’t realise Tia come up to me. She tapped me on the shoulder “hello?” she said “oh hey!” I said giving her a hug “sorry I was just lost in music again” I told her “as always” she joked back at me. I put my iPod and headphones away. Just in time as the bus pulled up to collect me and Tia. “It is so annoying how City College makes us get on public transport” Tia moans as we finish paying for our day tickets and sat down at the back. “Yeah, I know it does such a bit.” There was silence for a bit when Tia asked me “if Nick planning any shows this year?” I shook my head and said “I have no idea.” We liked discussing bout our past and how we think we have improved and we both liked getting lead roles in musicals. One year at high school we did the show Greased Lightning. I was Sandie and Tia was Rizo. We had so much fun “hey remember that time stinky feet Pete fell off the stage? Miss Justin was not happy!” Tia and I laughed and joked as the bus slowly made its way to college. Nothing is going to separate mine and Tia’s friendship. It is way too strong for anyone to break it down.
