Chapter 44

*Max’s POV*

It was the day of our solo performances for Jade at college. Everyone was excited about it but we were all, however, still disappointed that Kerry wasn’t here. “She is ok, awake and smiling. Doctors just need to keep her in a few days just to monitor her. I said to her I would film the performances so she could see them all. She is upset she couldn’t make it” Nathan told us. It was reassuring though to know that she was ok and the serious part of her condition, alcohol poisoning, was out of her system. “Thank you Nathan and next time you go and see her send her all our best wishes and give her these from us.” Jade passed Nathan a huge bunch of flowers a range of colours. Pinks, Purples Yellows “thanks Jade. She will love them” Nathan said as he took the bouquet and sat back down. “Right so let me explain to you what is going to happen. One by one you will come up to the stage. I assume you have all recorded backing of your song onto a disk which we can play through the overhead speakers? Yes? Ok so when it is your turn pass me the cd or memory stick so I can get it sorted and then go to the microphone. Explain in a short sentence what the song means and then I will play the song and you will sing it. I will be grading you on your input, how well you have thought of lyrics and your actual performance. Any questions?” Jade went on to explain. No one wanted to ask any questions. “Right then. Tom you ok going first?” Jade asked Tom. He nodded got up and just went to the mic “no CD Tom?” jade asked. He shook his head “Nah Jade, got me guitar” he answered her. “Okay, go for it” Jade said. “Ok well, er this is a song I wrote called let it go. After he sang the song we all clapped and he went to sit down.

*Tom’s POV*

I thought my performance went very well. As I sat down Jade called the next person “ok thanks Tom. Very good. Can I please have Becca next please” Jade said. She smiled and walked up to the stage and passed a memory stick to Jade. She then took the microphone out of the stand and moved the stand out of the way. “Hi guys so this song I have written is called how we do. It’s about partying and having fun. She was strutting her stuff on the stage. She was enjoying every minute of it. It was definitely a get up and party song. She had all the class clapping their hands. Nathan wanted to clap but he was too busy filming it all for Kerry. As the song finished everyone stood up and clapped. She did really well and Jade looked pleased as well.

*Becca’s POV*

My heart was pumping after that performance. I really enjoyed showing off on the stage. “Brilliant performance Becca!” Jade said as she handed me my memory stick and I went to sit down. “Okay next up can I have Jay” Jade said as he got up and handed Jade a disk. “Okay so this song is called out of time. His voice was so sweet. Andrea was so lucky to have him. Everyone was mesmerized by his performance. The song he wrote was so meaningful. He was a talented guy. When the performance was over everyone awed. It was such an amazing song. Jay got his CD back from Jade and went to sit down.

*Jay’s POV*

Well everyone enjoyed my song. I think. “Next up, Andrea please” Jade said as Andrea walked up to the mic “the song I wrote is called you know you like it. Enjoy” she said as she passed the disk to Jade before she sang.
