"Em, you need to stop this and just talk to him. You're obviously miserable without him. I know that he was dating the two of you at the same time...sort of..but he never talked to her. He literally wasn't able to tell her that it was over. How is he supposed to tell her now? He doesn't have her number because she changed it once she got to America. I'm not saying what he did was right, but I am saying that you two need to work this out." I sighed and realised that Odessa was right.
I'd been calling her almost every day to talk about how much I missed Harry but I hated him at the same time. How could he do that? Why wouldn't he tell Nadia before she left that a long-distance relationship wouldn't work? I just don't understand him! Not like I used to at least.
"How many times have I told you that you and Harry are meant to be? You two keep breaking up and getting back together. If you stopped having feelings for him, and he stopped having them for you, you would've either stopped trying altogether or you would've realised that you're better off being friends. That hasn't happened though."
"I don't know what to do though. We haven't seriously talked in 3 weeks." It was true. All we ever did was glance at each other when we thought the other person was looking away, but every time, we were wrong and ended up glancing at the same time. Then I would glare and instantly regret it whilst Harry would give me big, somber, green eyes. I just want to kiss him and forget all of this, but I can't. I'm too stubborn.
"Oh come on, Em. You two still live in the same house for crying out loud! Just 'accidentally' bump into him or something. Then start the conversation that will change your whole life forever. I'm only saying this as a friend, but your constant whining about this is driving me crazy! Not only do I hear it from you, but I hear it from Harry too!"
Wait, Harry? Why would she hear it from him? "Harry?" I heard her gulp into the phone and it clicked. He had been calling her too. I guess it makes sense. She had always helped us when we fought during primary school days. "Oh, uh, what? Did I say Harry? Haha, I meant Harmony. Anyways, gotta go, babe! Talk to you later!" She hung up and I rolled my eyes. She totally meant Harry.
Well, I guess this is it. I have to talk to him today. I got up out of bed and brushed my teeth, washed my face and chose out my outfit for the day. I quickly got dressed and then put my hair up into a pony tail. I also did some light makeup and then I was ready. Ready to succeed....or fail.
I walked by Harry's room and noticed that the door was slightly open. That's strange. I peeked my head inside and my eyes laid on his closed eyes and messy hair. He was curled up into a ball with his knees pulled up to his chest. His palms were pressed together underneath his head and he sniffled quietly. I walked inside, careful not to make a single sound and watched his calm, even breathing.
His sheets and comforter were on the floor and he seemed to be shivering a little. I picked up the sheets and comforter off the ground and nervously put them over him, tucking them in around him. The sniffling that I'd heard earlier continued and I leaned in closer to his face. I saw a trail of tears slowly making their way from the corners of his eyes, down his cheeks and dripping off his jawline.
He was crying in his sleep and it was most-likely because of me. His lips stuck out a bit into a pout and his forehead creased. "Emery," he said my name as clearly as he would if we were normally talking right now. I stopped breathing and waited for him to wake up and tell me to get out, but nothing happened. He was still fast asleep.
I knew I shouldn't do this, but I couldn't fight the urge. I set my palm on his forehead and moved closer. Oh god, what am I doing? Before I could stop myself, I kissed the tip of his nose. The corners of his lips curved up into a smile and his pout disappeared. Oh no, he's waking up!
