"I told you, you'd be seeing me again. Think I could forget about you babe?" He was drunk and stumbling towards me, a beer clenched in his fist.
"Jake, you need to leave." I kept my voice calm because I knew how he was when he was drunk. Say one wrong thing and you'd regret it.
"Why don't you want to be with me?! You take my daughter and leave and then expect me to just forget about you! I want to be with you and you know, I get what I want."
With every word he came closer and by the end, he was so close I could smell every beer he had drank.
"I didn't want to take her away from you, I just-" I stopped breathing when he dropped his beer and grabbed ahold of my arms, bringing me closer. His grip was tight and I could feel the bruises from his fingers starting to form.
"You just what huh?!" My eyes started burning as he screamed in my face. "Thought you could keep her from me?!"
"Is there a problem here?"
Opening my eyes, I peeked around Jake who had tensed. Sid and Duper stood not to far away with questioning looks on their face's.
"No, we're fine. Just having a conversation, right Kolby?" Jake smiled at me evilly while slowly letting go of my arms.
I didn't say anything as he fully let go and took a small step back. I was shaking and no matter how much I swallowed, the lump in my throat wouldn't go away.
"You should probably go." Sid's voice was low and intimidating as he stood slightly in front of me.
Jake went to say something but thought better as Duper took the other empty spot next to me. He smiled and with a creepy laugh, started stumbling away.
No one moved or said anything as we watched him slowly walk away.
"Wow, what's going on here?" The rest of the guys were making their way out of the building, Beau following not long after.
Still a little shocked, I quickly grabbed my backpack and climbed onto the bus, ignoring their questioning stares. I took a seat in the back and felt the tears finally start to fall.
No one got onto the bus for a few minutes so I knew Sid and Duper were telling them what happened. I was happy they walked out when they did because who knows what would've happened but I also wish they wouldn't have. The guys were already on edge when it comes to Jake and I knew this wouldn't end well.
"Babe." I heared Beau whisper. When I didn't say anything, he slid into the seat next to me. He waited another minute before putting his arm around me and pulling me into his chest. "You don't have to talk about it now but we need to eventually."
****
I didn't start to feel better until I had talked to my dad. When we got to the airport I knew I had to call him and tell him. He told me he would take a few days off and stay with Lily until I got back.
"Sid, Duper." Instead of only getting their attention like I had hoped, everyone turned to me. "I just wanted to say thank you."
"You don't have to thank us Kolby. I'm happy we walked out when we did. Who knows what could have happened."
"Yeah." I rubbed the back of my neck as they continued to stare at me.
I knew what they wanted. They wanted me to say I was going to call the cops or at least get a restraining order against him but how? How was I supposed to do that without the media finding out. I didn't need more people finding out about this.
