"Wait a minute, so you're telling me that our dad made you?" Mavis said.
"Mhm! You're dad's a genius!" Regine smiled.
"That's so cool!" Drew exclaimed.
"And this is where, fifteen years ago, your dad and your mom met." She smirked at them, walking towards the desk.
"Eww!" They yelled in disgust. Regine walked back to show them a picture of Justin and Elaine when they graduated.
"Awww, they look so cute together..." Mavis awed.
"Your dad was a scientist expertise and your mom was a monster hunter."
"Monster hunter?!" she shouted "That's the coolest thing ever!"
"Yeah, I was with them 'till they married and moved..."
Drew looked at her, confused, "Why didn't dad and mom bring you along to our house?"
Regine's smile suddenly disappeared, her head looking down on the ground. Drew noticed this, slowly becoming guilty with the question he asked.
"...I don't think he needed me anymore..." Regine sighed. "It explains why he tried to deactivate me..."
"It's okay, I'm sure daddy and mommy had a reason, Regine." Mavis smiled.
"So what can you do?" Drew asked, "Besides be a hologram and stuff?"
"Hold on, let me do a diagnostic test..."
Regine froze for a couple seconds, a couple beeping sounds coming from different parts of the lab. Some lights lit up around the room as some other machines groaned to motion. After a minute, she unfroze herself, looking around to see what changed.
"...what happened?" Drew finally asked.
Regine looked around, "Oh man, this is worse than I thought..."
"Are you okay...?" Mavis suddenly worried.
Regine sighed, "I haven't been activated for the past 15 years, so barely anything works except for a couple things..."
Drew smiled, "Well, I mean that's good considering you have at least a few..."
"Oh no..." Regine gasped.
"What's wrong?"
"I was able to get a gps tracking on your parents; they're in trouble."
"What do you mean, in trouble...?" Mavis worried.
A hologram popped out in front of them, revealing a map of the entire city with a few red dots pinned on it.
"I was able to pinpoint the location of your parents with what I am still able to access. It turns out that your mom and dad are in an W.A.T.T. Headquarters Center on the other side of the city."
"What?! How did that happen?!" Mavis cried out in shock.
"Mom told us that it was a Staff Development Day today at school..." Drew explained.
"Well, no: you guys should actually be at school right now. I think she knew they were coming for you guys and she was trying to protect you two..."
"Oh no..." Mavis quivered. "W-what are we going to do...?"
"I say we rescue our parents!" Drew said out loud.
Regine and Mavis turned and looked at Drew strangely, comprehending what he just said.
"...You want to rescue our parents from the W.A.T.T.?" Mavis said in disbelief.
"Well yeah! I mean, come on! We can try at least something!"
"Drew, we can't do anything! You're eleven and I'm only nine and a half! What can we do?!"
"We can at least try! There's gotta be a room filled with cool gadgets here somewhere!" Drew argued, walking around the lab.
"There's no point!" Mavis cried back to him. "We may share the last names as them, but we're nowhere near the Spy Kids!"
All of a sudden, a huge tumbler slammed unlock from underneath the stairs. Mavis and Drew looked towards the sound as steam started floating out of the room. The metal door slowly creaked open, the rusty metal barely holding up the heavy metal it swung open. White steam poured out of the room, dying down to lightly cover the room. They both looked at Regine, smiling at them.
"Ready to become the next generation?" She smiled as she ushered them inside.
The room flickered on with bright white lights, illuminating all of the guns and gadgets all over the room. Machines and remotes filled the drawers as gun racks filled with all sizes of guns were attached around the room. Mavis and Drew looked around in awe, amazed with the wonderland of things inside. In the middle of the room was a tall silver tube with an open glass door, nothing inside.
"What was supposed to be in here?" Drew asked, inspecting the remains of the display case.
"Oh, that was supposed to hold The Colt: a gun rumored to kill any monster in its way, only useful with the injection of the subject's own blood."
"Where did it go?"
Regine was about to answer, but then stopped, "You know, I actually don't know... Now that I think about it. It must be my memory card that's deteriorating..."
Mavis grabbed two small backpacks from the corner and threw one at Drew. She started to pack walkie talkies and other small gadgets inside.
"Drew, get as much as you can carry: we're going after mom and dad."
"Wait seriously?!" he said excitedly.
"Yeah, we're going to need all that we can get to reach them before the W.A.T.T. beat us to them."
"You're going to need some inside help then." Regine smiled. "Let's get to work."
