The train horn echoed around the train yard to announce its departure, disappearing into the isolated train tracks. The van started up again, crawling slowly into the boxcar next to them. The skyline above became black, covered by the ceiling above them. After a moment, the van finally came to a halt and everything became quiet.
Elaine faintly heard the front door open from the front of the car. She groaned as she looked around to see what happened, the darkness blinding her sight. Her hands moved around her surroundings to find where she was, finding Justin beside her.
"...Justin...?" She groaned lightly as she sat up to wake him up. He groaned as he got up, bruised by the impact. He held her hands and slowly opened his eyes in the darkness, seeing the outline of her face.
"Am I in heaven...?" He said faintly.
"No, you idiot, I saved you." She laughed lightly, smiling at him.
"But why can I see an angel in front of me...? She looks like my wife..."
Elaine pushed him back, "Wow, cheesiness never left our relationship from our high school years, huh?" She scoffed in disbelief as she stood herself up.
"Come on! You loved it when I did that!" Justin laughed as he pulled himself up with the seats.
"Loved." Elaine emphasized as she kissed him.
Lights began to turn on, temporarily blinding them from the bright lights. The trunk door slowly opened, the white light entering into the van. Isabel stood before them, two girls crossing their arms stood behind her.
"Audrey, Bridge: help them up."
The two girls behind her walked towards them and helped Elaine and Justin out of the van. They brought them next to the wall and sat them down, mending any injuries they had. As they were getting treated, they looked around and saw the entire inside of the boxcar to resemble a secret agent lair like in the Mission Impossible movies. The different weaponry and gadgets filled the walls of the car.
Isabel slid the van door open, Mavis and Drew slowly waking up. They looked up and saw her, looking down on them.
"Auntie, are we in trouble?" Mavis asked as they helped each other up.
Isabel laughed, "No, you two! I'm so proud of you two, come here and give your auntie a hug!"
Mavis and Drew cheered as they landed in her arms, giggling and laughing. Isabel let them down, allowing them to run into their parents arms. They cried and laughed, perfectly glad their family was back as a whole. Isabel smiled at them as their tears streamed down their smiling cheeks.
"Isabel, thank you..." Justin said smiling. He slowly got up and hugged her, their grip on each other strong.
"I couldn't let anything happen to you guys, no matter what." Isabel smiled as she helped Elaine up.
"How did you even do that? " Elaine said in complete shock. "I mean, like, we wouldn't have suspected any of this from you, no offense Isabel."
"Haha, I had a feeling you guys wouldn't notice." Isabel chuckled. "Come on, let's move to the front of the car."
As they maneuvered around the van, they saw two girls sitting down at a huge table. They turned and looked at them, smiling as they approached them.
"Bridgitte, Audrey, this is my brother, Justin, my sister-in-law, Elaine and their two kids, Drew and Mavis."
"Awww! Nice to meet you two!" Audrey smiled and bent to her knees to look at them. "Your aunt has talked a lot about you two."
"Yeah, and I heard amazing stories about your dad and mom." Bridgitte continued, shaking their hands. "Never knew that your dad could make a time machine right before he could even get into a college."
