All of a sudden, something disturbed his meditation state. The silence was broken by falling debris and immediate gunfire. He opened his eyes, hearing the screams of Drew and Mavis by his side. Elaine, who was yelling his name to wake him up, tried to turn around to see the chaos that happened behind them. As red alert lights started flashing, the four agents that were assigned to shoot them were shot down.
A mysterious person ran to them, her entire head covered in a black bandana. Whoever it was, it started unshackling them from the clamps. Drew and Mavis stood up happily and free as they saw their parents being freed. They all stood up, confused with who would try to save them.
"Grab their guns! We need to move now before they bring reinforcements!" a girl's voice came from the bandana underneath. She gave all four guns to everyone, Mavis and Drew's eyes open wide with amazement. Justin grabbed his gun and started to realize the familiarity of her voice. His thoughts were immediately interrupted by the importance of time.
"Follow me! Stay close and shoot anyone with the W.A.T.T. uniform!" She yelled as she ran towards the bomb blast in the wall. Drew and Mavis ran close behind as Elaine followed them, Justin following in the back for cover. They quietly ran down the empty hallway, coming to a covered hole in the ground. Yelling from W.A.T.T. agents echoed down the halls.
"Everyone jump down." She said as she removed the cover. "You guys come down and I'll cover you if they show up in sight."
Drew and Mavis jumped down into the hole. Elaine slowly fell in, making sure they were okay at the bottom. Justin prepped himself to follow, but looked at the mysterious girl.
"Who are you?" He asked, trying to figure out who she was.
"Come on! No time to lose!" She yelled as he pushed Justin inside. He fell in, meeting his family below. He barely got a good look at them as they all hugged in gratitude for their escape. The tunnel was dimly lit as the mystery girl followed in. She flipped a switch on the wall that made the pathway light up brightly.
"Alright, kids behind me and Justin, stay behind." she said as she started crouching through the tunnel. They made many turns and climbed up and down the path as they started to see lights leading outside. After crawling for a couple minutes, they made it out into an alleyway, a van waiting outside for them. She unlocked the van, the doors opening up.
"Everyone get inside, we need to get out of the city before they start a search for you guys." She said as they all climbed inside, with Justin in the front and Elaine accompanying Drew and Mavis. As Elaine helped Drew put in his seat belt, the girl started the car and drove out of the alleyway into the streets. Mavis's eyes wandered around the car, noticing the few cars on the streets and the clock that read 10:32 on the dashboard. She then noticed a red gem that was swinging from the rear-view mirror.
"Hey mom, look!" Mavis said, pointing it out. "It's like Auntie Isabel's gem in her van."
"Yeah, huh..." Justin muttered, noticing the gem too. He stared at the gem, trying to look at what kind of gem it was. For Isabel's 21th birthday, Justin gave her a small red gem that she could hang on her rear-view mirror. It had the engraving "Forever Family <3" on the back as a reminder to her that he always loved her and that he would be there for her whenever she needed him. As the van drove around the streets, the gem began to rotate, revealing the backside of the gem. An engraving read out "Forever Family <3".
Justin turned to the girl, her eyes focused on the road.
"Sistabel...?" he slowly said.
She turned to look at him, her hand taking off the bandana. Her hair fell out as she fixed her hair to see as she continued driving. She looked back at him with an expressionless face, her eyes filled with worry and determination.
