Valentine's Day with Laxus Dreyer.

Today was probably the only day in Magnolia- and everywhere- you hated the most. You didn't like the thought of people expressing their love and making out wherever they please just because they were in love. Yeah, it was cute for them but it is a bit uncomfortable for others who have to carry on with their lonely day.

You weren't sure why you hated it so much but you knew deep down that it had something to do with the Lightning Dragon Slayer who you had a huge crush on. The man had caused so much damage and destruction, he was also vain and arrogant and sometimes you seriously wanted to punch him right across his flawless face.

Nevertheless your silly little heart had chosen to set it's sights on him and you had no escape nor say. You loathed how much you cared for him when he probably only thought of you as the dirt he stepped on.
So here you were laying on the long bench of a table in the guild, staring at the ceiling so you wouldn't have to see people swapping saliva and confessing their undying love for each other.

You heard people chatting and drinking together throughout the Fairy Tail guild and you only dozed off. You weren't struggling with money which meant you didn't necessarily have to go on a mission and there was absolutely nothing worth doing in Magnolia that could keep you interested for long enough.

"(Y/N)!"

The doors of the guild split open with a bang and you jumped in your spot, holding your chest to calm your heart and sat up tiredly to observe the caller of your name. You rubbed your eyes in an exhausted manner but your eyebrows shot up when you saw Laxus at the entrance as he stood in an authoritative and strong position; his legs shoulder-width apart with his hands resting on his hips as he looked around with a strange look on his face.

The second he saw you, he beamed, stomping towards you and you straightened your posture when you remembered that he was the person who was just calling your name. He held an undecipherable expression on his face and his cheeks were glowing red - standing out even more because of his bright blonde hair.

In the midst of daydreaming about his perfect face, you jumped when you noticed he was only about a meter away from you. Standing across the other side of the table, in front of you he looked down at you with a small smile. He seemed to be wringing his hands together in front of him and the sight of his scratching the back of his neck while avoiding eye contact for a second enticed you greatly.

Was Laxus nervous? Why would Laxus be nervous? Mayb- Oh God. Today was Valentine's Day. What is happ-
"Be my Valentine (Y/N)."

Your mouth fell agape. Your hands fell slack by your sides. Eyes widening so much they could've popped out from their sockets and Laxus seemed to relax and chuckled when you had to literally lift your hand to close your mouth. You could've fainted and without a single coherent thought in mind, your heart spoke for you, "Okay."

Laxus seemed surprised but grinned at your response, feeling his confidence boost through the roof as he fast-walked his way around the table towards you so he could kiss your cheek and rush away.

You were still as a statue and blushing like a tomato, Laxus had kissed your cheek! Your cheek was burning and you could still feel his warm lips on your skin. Reaching your hand up, you touched your face with a smile and you had to bite your lip to keep it from expanding too far to hurt your cheeks.

Hours passed and as the time went, Freed proceeded to give you a note, written by Laxus,  stating you had to meet him on the roof of the guild that overlooked the whole city. You jumped in delight and began counting down the minutes till the Valentine's Day parade begun.

The sun had disappeared and you made your way towards the edge of the rooftop to watch the bright colours of reds, pinks and whites as heart-shaped balloons littered the sky.

Your jaw dropped at the sight, feeling lucky that you got to witness the beautiful scenery and a shadow followed by a cough earned your attention towards a flustered looking Lightning Dragon Slayer.

"I'm uh.. I'm glad you made it (Y/N)" He spoke, his body turning from the parade and to you as you slowly made you way next to him.

You watched confused and he seemed to flinch away from your stare, looking around you and then down to his feet.

"You thought I wouldn't come?" You asked in a small voice, smiling softly when he shook his head, fiddling with the fluff on his huge jacket.

"I was hoping you would but I wasn't exactly sure.. I wanted to show you something- come here."

The blonde man answered you and grew his confidence at the same time, making you smile when he indicated that you come closer, next to his muscular body. He wordlessly stared at you as he slowly wrapped his arm around your shoulders but you yelped when you heard lightning in the sky.

You jumped from fear and without thinking you nuzzled your face into the mans chest from the unexpected sound that almost caused your heart to leap out of your throat. Laxus froze guiltily - not expecting you to react in such a way but he only held you tighter- whispering words that were just heard over the lightning that lit up the dark sky.

"(Y/N).. Look up.. Please."

You slowly did as you were told and moved away from the lightning wizard with blazing cheeks. You avoided eye contact and looked straight up into the sky- tears immediately filling your eyes when you read your own personal message.

I Love You, (Y/N) (L/N)

The yellow words were all written in lightning and dedicated only to you. Your hands involuntarily reached up to cup your mouth as a gasp escaped your throat. Laxus was silent, anticipating your reaction and immediately jumped when he caught tears coming from your eyes.

You only re-read the message, choking on your tears as you heard Laxus stuttering beside you and trying to get your attention.

"Ah, sorry if you don-"

He was silenced in the most surprising way he thought possible when you quickly grabbed the sides of his jacket, gripping the wool and pulling it straight towards you to plant your lips into his.

A strangled gasp left his mouth but as soon as you began moving your lips, he seemed to have woken up; wrapping his arms around your waist to pull you closer as he deepened the kiss, licking your bottom lip and exploring your mouth when you opened your mouth to invite him in.

You pulled away slowly, the both of you panting from the exhilarating kiss you just shared and he smiled lovingly, moving his nose against yours with affection you didn't know the man in front of you could deliver.

"That was amazing, I love you too Laxus."

He smiled as you spoke, chuckling in glee as he answered, giving him the reaction he was hoping for when your cheeks became inflamed with blush,
"You're amazing."
