"Ya know," he sighed, "I tried, I really did. You deserve a romantic, and so I thought I would give it a shot. I spent countless hours reading quotes and poetry, and you know what?" "What?" She giggled, amused with the obvious frustration in his voice. "I learned nothing. I was told that once you're in love, Every song and poem becomes about them, but I didn't see any similarity at all." "Why is that? Do I not act graceful and poetic enough for you?" Her remark held a small ribbon of playful sarcasm. "Of course that's not it... it's just that I kept coming across thoughts like 'you saved me,' and 'until I met you, I was broken.' I think that's just stupid. No offense, and I'm sad I have to tell you, but before we met, I was definitely not suffering. I was perfectly happy and I could have kept going like that for a long time, maybe even forever. I was a whole and I knew it. I met you, and still knew I wasn't missing anything. I had a great life before you, I still believe that. But after I started to get to know you, there was no going back to the way things were before. That life was exactly the same, but I was bigger now, because you had become a part of me, and that life only filled in half. Life didn't change, I did. I still think if we never met, I could have been perfectly fine living life the way I was. But now it seems incomparable. I look back on that happy guy, living that happy life, and think, you have no idea. You think it's wonderful now, just wait until you meet her. And life keeps going like this. Everyday, I think about who I was yesterday, and I say 'you don't even know what you're missing.' So even though the poetry did nothing for me, I can't wait to see tomorrow, the new dimension of joy that you will bring me."
