Have You Heard From Ruby Yet?

"What ?". Mum asked confused.

"I'm the new Girlfriend". Ruby stated shyly.

"Oh. Wow !. I didn't realise you felt that way about each other". Mum said.

"Neither did we until the other day". Cobie said.

Mum eyes me suspiciously. "Did you know about this ?". I shrunk back under her gaze. Mum didn't like it when I kept things from her.

" I swore her to secrecy". Cobie explained.

It was then I remembered Troy. I turned and looked at him. He was smirking "so this is what was so funny between you and Ruby ?".

I grinned , glad he wasn't mad. "Yeah".

"Well". Mum said after a while. "I'd welcome you to the Family Ruby , but you're already part of it".

Mum gave Ruby a hug and Ruby hugged Mum back. "Thanks Mrs E !".

"No problem. So !". Mum looked between Ruby and Cobie. "Whose going to tell me how and when you realised you like each other ?".

Ruby and Cobie both blushed furiously and I was instantly glad I wasn't either of them.

"Nice to meet you Mr Evans". Troy said later as he was leaving.

"The pleasures all mine". Dad said smiling.

I walked Troy out. His Mum was picking him up. We walked far enough up the driveway so my parents couldn't see us but not far enough that his Mum could see us.

Troy kissed me good bye and we wrapped our arms around each other in a good bye hug.

"See you tomorrow Beautiful". Troy winked at me.

"Yes you will". I smiled.

I walked back inside, smiling to myself.

"I asked Dad what he thought of Troy". Mum said once I was in the house.

"Oh yeah ?".

"He seems like a nice young lad". Dad said

I grinned. "He really is Dad".

"I'm happy to see you happy".

"Thanks Dad".

Ruby walked into the kitchen with Cobie following behind her.

"I'm off home Guys'". Ruby's Aunty Jenna was picking her up; since Jenna had been going out with friends and then going back to stay at Ruby's house.

"Bye Rubes !". I rushed over and hugged her. "Call me when you get home okay ?".

"Me too Rubes". Cobie said.

Ruby laughed. "I'll call you both".

"Me first though !". I said.

"No me !". Cobie exclaimed.

"I never thought I would have to tell you Two not to fight over Ruby". Mum said.

We all laughed.

"Bye Ruby !". My parents said in unison.

"Bye Mr and Mrs E !".

Cobie walked Ruby out to the gate and I left them too it.

I headed off upstairs. I wanted another early night and I still had some homework to finish. I heard Cobie coming up the stairs. You really couldn't miss him; it was like a herd of Elephants coming up the stairs.

I caught him as he was on his way back down the stairs. He had his bag in his hands so I figured he wasn't staying tonight.

"Did you kiss your Girlfriend goodnight ?". I teased.
