You're Unlike Any Other Girl I've Ever Known.

Ruby's mouth dropped open in shock, "you what ?"

"Think I want to dump Troy" I mumbled again.

"But ? Why ? I thought you really liked him ?" Ruby asked confused.

"I do !" I exclaimed , "but that's the problem !"

If Ruby was confused before , she was beyond lost now. "How is liking your boyfriend a reason to dump him ?"

"Because, he's going to dump me and if I dump him first then it will still hurt but not as much."

Ruby held up her hands nearly losing her balance , she was still on crutches after all. "whoa , whoa , whoa ! Back up ! He's going to dump you ?"

"Yes" I hung my head sadly.

"How do you know that ? It doesn't make any sense since by the way he looks at you- you can tell he's almost at the point of being in love with you."

I blushed furiously at Ruby's words. No guy had ever been in love with me before.

"I just know he is Rube ! I woke up this morning and I realised that he's too perfect to be with someone like me ! He's good looking , he's confident , he's popular , he's caring , he's sweet and soooo supportive I could go on all day. Sooner or later I knew he was going to realise it too and now he has."

"What do you mean now he has ?"

"He's been texting Serenity from our Glee Club."

"So ? They could just be friends."

"The way she looks at him tells me she would like him as a lot more than a friend."

Ruby scoffed. "The way she looks at him , that's her , not Troy."

"Yeah well if you seen her you'd know that it wont be soon before long and he'll like her too."

"Janie !" Ruby scolded , "you know as well as I that Troy is not the type of guy that goes for a girl just based on her looks, if that was the case he would be with Courtney."

I shuddered at the thought of Troy and Courtney together.

"Look , even if this Serenity does like Troy , you knew when you started dating Troy that eventually you would have to deal with other girls , Troy is just that type of guy. He's with you though , so he obviously likes you."

I sighed.

"Janie , you underestimate yourself so much , you're gorgeous , why do you think your presence around Troy bothers Courtney so much ? You're also one of the sweetest people I know that runs in your family but you're funny and you're just amazing. Yeah , you never used to be confident but all of us have seen a massive boost in your confidence ever since you joined the Glee Club."

"Yeah but all that is gone now." I admitted. "This competition that's coming up , I want to make you guys proud I really do but even if I attempt it I know that I'm going to blow it and disappoint all of you."

Ruby put her hands on my shoulders, "Janie , we will ALL be proud of you as long as you go out there and give it your best if you blow it - which you wont- we will all still love you because we know the courage it will take you to get up there and that will be enough to make us proud."

I smiled. "Thanks Rubes."

"Getting back to Troy , do you think maybe the problem is you Jane ?"

I blushed. "I already told you I thought it was me Ruby."

Ruby shook her head. "No , not like that , I mean do you think maybe the issue is in your head ?"

I was confused. "What do you mean ?"
