And as she stood out in the swirling snow, the girl felt a little better.

After all, she was a winter child.

It was easier to be alone when she was with the snow.

But snow melts away, leaving bare bones, ugly secrets and lies. She knows that.

Her other half is missing, her heart intent upon an impossible match. She needs the cold to numb the pain.

Now the snow has stopped.

And so will her heart.
