stopped

I saw you today and
smiled in spite of
myself

I saw you today and
remembered once again
why I love you

I saw you today and
felt how I used to
long ago

I saw you today and
was happy

Not drained
Not afraid
Not falling apart

Not a monster
Not a burden
with a forbidden heart

I saw you today and
felt like
me

the real me
