I don't trust people.
People won't be trusted
Can't be trusted
Because they are
All the same
In different ways
You think you know a person
Understand a person
Care about a person
And they understand you
And care about you
And other people too
But people are more than two-faced
They have a mask for each
Time of the day and
Person in their lives
And a mind a million times
More complex and
Corrupted
So don't think for a second
That what anyone says
Or shows is the final truth
For in our human world
"Truth" has never existed
Since the day we opened
Our ghastly mouths
I don't want to identify
As the label of "people"
Or "person"
Or "human"
Anymore because it's like saying
"Liar"
Or "Killer"
Or "Monster"
And I'd rather be a monster
Openly
Than hide myself
Behind the title of innocence
We fashioned for our unique
Destructive species
To disguise who we really are
But we're not fooling anyone
Only ourselves
Even now I'm shocked
By the ones I trusted
The ones I understood
The ones I cared about
Who betray
everything around them
Betray me
Betray my friends
Betray others
Betray themselves
People mustn't be trusted
Can't be trusted
Because they are
All the same
In different ways
Maybe I am the same
In different ways
But I'm not one of them
I didn't think you were either
