it Snowed for Mother
on Mother's Day
I stood out in the cold
                              it Snowed for Mother
turning pouring rain
into memories of old
                              it Snowed for Mother
tears ran down my face
but the sunlight was gold
                              it Snowed for Mother
and Grandmother too
both wonderful stories told
                              it Snowed for Mother
in the pure white embrace
I no longer felt cold
                              the world Snowed for Mother
and whispered softly
'You will never be alone'
For the brave and kind hearted
