"With your face and the beautiful eyes, and the conversation with the little white lies, and the faded picture of a beautiful night, You carry me from your car up the stairs, and I broke down crying, was she worth this mess? After everything and that little black dress." I hum as I rush out of the shower early the next morning.
Anxiety was setting in, the moments when I would first meet my next foster parent were soon. When I would have to sit outside miss Elle's office after talking to this person, then I'd have to wait. Sitting in the chair outside the office while waiting for papers and dates to be signed is a bad time for me.
I remember when I came back home from my first foster home, I cried a lot and isolated myself. When miss Elle said I was going to another home I got really scared, I had met the elderly couple and had to sit in that chair for a good half an hour.
I got so scared of my future, but it didn't turn out bad.
Maybe that would happen this time as well.
I locked my door and changed into the clothes I had set out yesterday, the white sleeveless top, yellow skater skirt and black flats. I put my hair into two plaits, that way it didn't get as knotty and it didn't fly around.
I wasn't hungry so I didn't have breakfast, I just walked around and talked to miss Elle.
Everyone else was still asleep, besides maegan. She had gotten up and had a shower after me, miss Elle said she was being picked up earlier so she had to get ready.
Some of the younger kids had also gotten up early, to watch cartoons on tv.
"Miss Elle, can I ask you something?" I asked the tall, slim lady who was bent down pulling out weeds from a garden bed out the front of the building.
"Of course, Ivory. Go ahead." She tossed some dandelions into a bucket. I pull out some as well, so I didn't feel as rude.
"Uhm, what if this next family turn out bad? Can I live with you? Can you adopt me?" I felt embarrassed asking that, but I've known Elle for so long.
"I'm not sure honey," she turned to look at me and took off her gardening gloves. "But I'm sure you'll love this woman, I know you will." She smiled and hugged me.
I embraced her and after a few minutes we let go.
"How about you run down to the shops and pick up a few things for me, to keep your mind off things?" Miss Elle picked up the bucket and we walked to the bin. "Okay, what do you need?" She emptied the contents of the bucket into the bin.
"Two litres of milk, a carton of eggs and some fruit, please." Miss Elle took out her wallet and passed me thirty dollars. "Buy the milk and eggs, and with the rest of the money buy some fruit. It doesn't matter what you get, it'll be fine." She smiled.
"Okay, when should I come back?" I take the money and remind myself to get my straw-woven bag.
She checks her watch. "It's seven thirty now, she will be here at eleven." Miss Elle frowns. "Stay out for as long as you want, but be back by eleven. Okay?" I nod and head inside to get my phone, bag and the spare change I had.

I say goodbye to miss Elle as I walk out of the building.
I walk down the street, the sidewalk is clean and a few trees over hang it, making pretty patterns on the concrete from the sun behind the leaves.
I take out my phone and go on tumblr, I scroll down my dash, liking posts etc.
I decide to make a video as I walk across the road. I hold my phone out and press the record button.
