Faith's P.O.V.
And I was right.
The day went by very slowly. We had a lot of customers but I got all the orders right so that's a plus.
"You ready to head home?" Marley asks coming up behind me. I turn around to face her and smile.
"Sure am. Let me just grab my bag." I go to move around her but she stops me.
"Already got it. Let's go." She says and hands me my bag. We make our way outside and hop into the car.
By the time we're home its already dark outside.
"Ok, so there's a race tonight. You in?" She asks me once we step inside my living room.
"I don't know Marley."
"Oh come on! You had a great time at the last one, plus Ryder will be there." She says while giving me a knowing smirk.
"Of course he will Marley. He's racing." I laugh and she rolls her eyes at me.
"Yeah, yeah but seriously please come with me! I know he's dying to see you again." She says and this warm tingly feeling washes over me.
"You don't know that." I say shyly while staring at the ground.
"Yes I do now go get ready. I'll neet you at my car." She commands me and I laugh while walking to my room to do just that.
I don't know why I'm going but I am. I had a pretty good time the last race but I was so out of my element. Maybe I'm only going for Ryder? No. That's stupid. He doesn't like me and I don't like him. Even if he did it wouldn't matter. My parents would never allow me to date someone like Ryder. He's an illegal street racer for crying out loud.
After getting ready I make my way out to Marley's car where she's currently waiting on me.
"Come on slow poke or we're gonna be late." She teases and honks the horn at me. I smile and step into the passenger seat.
"Off we go." She says and turns the radio on.
We pull up to the track me get out of the car.
"Do you see Dean anywhere?" Marley asks when she comes to stand beside me. I look around and sure enough, Dean and Ryder are standing at a group of cars surrounded me a bunch of people. That's a familiar site.
"He's over there." I point out.
"Oh! Come on!" Marley squeals and starts taking off in their direction.
"Marley wait up!" I yell and laugh while taking off after her.
I swear she's in love with that boy.
I'm almost there when Ryder looks up and meets my eyes. He sends me a small smile which I return sheepishly. Our gaze is broken when some blonde girl comes up to Ryder and pulls on his arm. She starts to say something in his ear and I immediately get jealous. Who is she? More importantly, why do I care?
I spot Marley and Dean a few feet away and walk over to them, doing my best to ignore Ryder and this mystery girl.
"Hey Faith. Nice to see you again." Deans says and pulls me into a friendly hug. He is definitely more open than Ryder.
"Hi Dean." I smile and return his hug. My gaze travels back to Ryder and I'm surprised to see his eyes already on me. He looks a little mad though. His jaw is clenched and his eyes are set in a glare. I turn my head away quickly as I see that girl is still right beside him. I pull away from Dean and go to stand by Marley.
"What's wrong? You look like you just witnessed a puppy being ran over by a truck." She says and I gasp.
"Marley that's terrible!" I say and slap her arm. She just laughs and nudges me with her elbow.
"Well you do. So what's wrong?"
"It's nothing." I mumble.
"Is it that girl who's all over Ryder?" She asks knowingly and my head immediately snaps up to look at her.
"Um no. He can hang out with whoever he wents. We barely even know each other."
"Yeah right. Look, don't worry about her. She's a slut. Even Ryder would never stoop that low." She says and pats me on the back. I give her a smile and nod my head.
"So ladies you ready for tonight?" Dean asks and throws his arm over Marley's shoulder. Her face turns a little red and I mentally aw at how cute they are.
"Of course. Who's up first?" She asks.
"I am." We all look over to see Ryder walking over to us. He stands beside me and I involuntarily tense up a little bit.
"Oh cool. Who you racing?" Marley asks while leaning into Dean.
"Adam." Is all he says and Marley nods.
All the sudden I'm being pushed forward and would've fallen if it wasn't for Marley and Dean catching me.
"Oh I'm sorry. I didn't see you there." I turn around to face the blonde girl who was all over Ryder smirking at me.
"Like hell you didn't bitch!" Marley yells.
"Marley it's fine." I whisper to her.
"Yeah Marley. It's fine." The blonde laughs and puts her arm around Ryder.
Marley is about to say something when a deep voice cuts her off.
"No it's not. Apologize now." Ryder demands.
The blonde rolls her eyes and sends me a fake smile. "Ok fine. I'm sorry. Now lets go get ready for your race Ryder."
"No. Stay the hell away from me and if you ever touch Faith again I'll ruin you." He sneers and the blonde practically sprints away from us. I look up and send Ryder a thankful smile.
"It's a good thing you said something Ryder because if you didn't I would've ripped that bitches hair out of her head." Marley says and we all laugh.
