Night Ryder

Chapter 13

Faith's P.O.V.

"So, where are we going?" I ask Ryder from the passenger seat of his beautiful car.

"It's a surprise, you'll find out when we get there." He looks at me and smirks.

"I hate surprises! Please Ryder, just tell me." I beg. I even use my puppy dog face that broke my dad everytime.

"If you don't stop pouting at me like that, I'll pull over right now and take you in the back seat of my car." He says while biting his lip. I gasp in shock and look down at my lap. My cheeks are flushed and I can feel how hot they are.

Ryder chuckles at my reaction and takes one of his hands off the wheel and places it on my thigh. I stiffen under his touch but relax after a minute.

A few minutes later we arrive at the road that leads to the makeshift track where Ryder races.

"What are we doing at the tracks?" I ask in confusion. This place has been a ghost town ever since the police showed up that night. Marley assured me though that wouldn't last forever. The guys are just waiting until there's no more signs of the police until they start racing again.

"We're not going to the tracks. It's just we have to take this road to get there." Ryder informs me and drives right on by.

Once we're past the tracks, Ryder makes a right turn that leads further into the woods.

"You're not bringing me out here to kill me right?" I ask and he chuckles.

"No Faith I'm not bringing you out here to kill you. I know I'm new to dating but even I know you don't kill your girlfriend on your first date." He laughs.

"Date?" I ask.

So this is our first actual date as boyfriend and girlfriend. The thought excites me so much I can feel the butterflies in my stomach again.

"Yeah. Date. Why? Don't you want it to be a date?" He asks in a cold tone.

"Of course I do! I just wished you would've told me so I could've dressed better." I say looking down at my t-shirt and jeans.

"You look beautiful." He tells me with a small smile. I lean over the console and place a kiss of his right cheek.

"Ok we're here." He says and gets out of the car. He comes over to my side and opens the door for me.

I gasp in surprise.

We're near the edge of a small cliff that overlooks all of Seattle. I can see all the lights now that it's getting darker outside. I can also see the beautiful sunset and it takes my breath away.

"Beautiful huh?" Ryder asks from beside me.

"It's absolutely amazing! How did you find this place?" I ask in amazement.

"Hold that thought." He says and walks back to his car. He grabs two blankets out of it and brings it back to where I'm standing. He lays one on the ground and sits down. He takes my hand in his and pulls me with him. He covers the other blanket over us.

"But to answer you're question I found it after I won my first race here. I needed to get away and just think about everything so I kept driving and round up here. I come here whenever I need a break from everything." He says and I smile.

I wanna scoot closer to him but I don't know if I should.

It seems as if he reads my mind because he pulls me closer to him. I lay my head on his chest and wrap one arm around his stomach while his arms are around my waist.

"Are you sure you've never done the whole dating thing before? You're pretty good at it." I tease him.

"No, I've never done the whole dating thing before." He laughs. "I just wanted to make this special for you." He smiles down at me.

"Well you did and I really appreciate it." I lean up to kiss him and he helps me by leaning down. Our lips meet and I feel the fireworks like I always do. We kiss until we have to pull apart for air.

"I'm really glad you gave me a chance Faith." He says.

"I'm really glad I did too." I say and connect our lips again. This time it's a lot rougher than before.

Ryder lifts me up to where I'm straddling his lap. He places his hands on my lower back and pushes me further into his chest. He slips his tongue into my mouth and massages mine with his. He groans when I run my fingers through his hair and pull gently.

His hands start to make their way lower to the point where he's cupping my butt. He pulls away from the kiss and instead attacks my neck. I let out a moan when he swipes his tongue against my collar bone.

"If we don't stop now I won't be able to." He whispers in my ear while nibbling gently on it. I nod my head because I haven't quite caught my breath yet.

"It's getting late. I should probably take you home." He says and kisses me one more time before standing up.

A few hours later I'm sitting on my couch with Marley talking about everything.

"So Ryder was jealous over the dude in the coffee shop?" She asks and I nod. "That's hilarious." She laughs and I join her.

"But anyways how was your date?"

"It was amazing. He took me to a cliff where we laid down and watched the sunset. He was so sweet. Marley I think I'm really falling for Ryder." I say and she awwww's.

"That's really cute Faith. I ship you two so hard!" She says excitedly and I break down into laughter.

"What about you and Dean?" I ask.

"Well that's what I've been meaning to tell you. Dean asked me to be his girlfriend." She says and I squeal in excitement.

"Oh my gosh! That's awesome Marley. Wait. You said yes right?" I ask stupidly.

"Of course I said yes you dumbass!" She laughs and I pull her into a big hug.

"I'm so happy for you Marley!" I say genuinely. Her and Dean make such a good couple. Anyone can see they obviously really like each other.

"Thanks Faith. He means a lot to me." She says staring off into space.

"We should celebrate! How about a double date? Me and Dean and you and Ryder. We could go out and see a movie or something." She says excitedly.

A double date?

"I mean maybe but I don't know how Ryder would feel about that." I tell my overly happy best friend.

"Oh come on! Dean is Ryder's best friend. It's not like they're strangers. Plus Ryder would do anything to make you happy and you'd do anything to make me happy and by going on a double date you'd make me happy which would make you happy which would make Ryder happy. See? Everybody's happy!" She says all in one breath.

"Marley that made no sense at all." I laugh. "But sure I'll talk to Ryder and see what he says."

"Ok thanks Faith. Now lets watch Twilight.  I need to see Edward shirtless after the day I've had." She says and I gasp.

"No! How about a shirtless Jacob?!" I yell which makes her gasp in fake horror. 

"Faith you're team Jacob?" She asks and I nod. "And I thought we were best friends." She says and I smack her arm lightly while laughing.

"Oh shut up. You love me." I tease her while putting in the movie.

"Yeah, yeah. Now hit play."
