Faith's P.O.V.
"Marley do I really need to try on all these clothes? We're just going to a movie." I groan from inside the dressing room at Forever21. I open the door and show Marley the hideous pink dress she picked out. She just shakes her head and throws more clothes at me.
"Hell yes you need to try all these clothes on! Come on Faith, we need to find the perfect outfit for you to wear tonight. Something that will make Ryder want to take you to the bathroom and fu-"
"Don't you dare finish that sentence." I glare at her and she laughs loudly catching the attention of a few people around us.
"Oh hush. Do you not remember a couple hours ago when me and Dean walked in on you and Ryder about to get hot and heavy on your kitchen counter? I swear Faith you're becoming more like me everyday." She winks at me.
"Oh Lord help me." I whine and she playfully flips me off.
"Just go change and then we'll grab something to eat in the food court." She demands and I roll my eyes while walking back into the dressing room.
-
"So what do you want? Chicken or Chinese?" Marley asks while staring at the menus.
"Ummm chicken sounds good."
"Ok. You go find us a seat and I'll order." She instructs and I nod my head.
I find an empty table off to the side and lay my stuff down on the table. I hope Ryder likes the dress we ended up picking out.
"Don't I know you?" A male voice asks from a few feet away. I look up and frown in confusion when I make eye contact with a strangely familiar face.
"I'm Ricky Owens. We met at the coffee shop."
That's why he looks so familiar. He's the guy who tried asking me out. The one Ryder apparently hates.
"Oh yeah, now I remember. How are you?" I try to sound friendly but for some reason this guy just screams trouble.
"I'm good. How about you? Still got your guard dog on its leash?" He snickers.
"Guard dog? You mean Ryder?"
"Yeah him. He still scaring away anyone interested in you?"
"Well considering he's my boyfriend I would hope no one else is interested in me." I retort. Now I see why Ryder doesn't like him.
"You've gotta be kidding me. Ryder doesn't do relationships. He's more of a hit-it-and-quit-it kind of man."
Before I can say anything a tray is slammed down on the table and a pissed off-Marley stands glaring at Ricky.
"What the hell are you doing here Ricky?" She spits.
"It's a mall Marley. What do you think I'm doing?." He asks with a bored tone.
"I meant what the hell do you think you're doing talking to Faith? Ryder already told you to stay away from her. What do you think he'd say if he found out you were talking shit about him to his girlfriend? He probably wouldn't be too happy is my guess." She says with a small smirk.
"How about you bitch at someone who cares Marley?"
"How about I shove my foot up your ass? They're both really good questions but only one has an answer. Why don't I demonstrate it for you?" Marley threatens and I have to stop myself from laughing. This girl.
"Whatever. I gotta go. See you around Faith." He says and begins to walk away.
"Like hell you will." Marley shouts at his retreating form which causes people to stare at us.
"Marley please sit down you're causing a scene." I beg.
"Fine." She mumbles out and sits at the seat across from me.
"Do you wanna explain to me what all that was about?" I ask and she sighs.
"Its nothing really. That's just Ricky Owens aka Ryder's number one nemesis. The guy's an asshole who will do anything to get under Ryder's skin including talking to you." She explains.
"So that's why Ryder told me to tell him if that guy ever bothers me again."
"Exactly and you should listen to Ryder. He can take care of it."
"Ok I will."
"Good. Now lets eat I'm starving." She says and rips open the bag of food.
-
"So did you find what you were looking for?" Ryder asks me from his position on my bed.
It's been two hours since I got home from the mall and two hours since I had that encounter with Ricky. I'm currently curling my hair in the bathroom while Ryder lays on my bed watching some episode of 'Friends'.
"Yes I did. I'm really excited for tonight. Thanks for agreeing to go." I say and Ryder appears behind me a few seconds later. I put down my curling iron and turn to face him.
"Of course baby. Anything to make you smile." He says and wraps his arms around me. I lean up to kiss him the same time he leans down to kiss me. I smile as we break apart and rest my head against his chest.
I don't want to tell him about the whole Ricky thing just yet but I know I have to. I just don't want to ruin his good mood.
"Hey what's on your mind?" He asks when he catches my frown.
Guess I have no choice now.
"We ran into that guy Ricky today at the mall." I say and he stiffens in my arms.
"Did he say anything to you?" He asks with a cold expression.
"Yeah but it doesn't matter. Marley told him off."
"What did he say Faith?"
"I said it doesn't mat-"
"I'll ask one more time. What did he say to you Faith?"
