"Welcome to Pentatonix auditions!" Esther called out.
The four members performed an arrangement that didn't need a fifth member, to settle down the crowd.
Over a thousand people had shown up.
"Is it sad that I've probably stalked most of your twitter accounts?" Scott asked.
Everyone laughed.
"Hey everyone!" Kirstie called out.
Everyone cheered for her.
"Hello, peoples!" Kevin said.
There was a chorus of hellos back to him.
"It's nice to see such a big crowd!" Avi exclaimed.
Cheers sounded.
"Hey guys! Let's get this thing started!" Michelle yelled.
One by one, people filtered through the opening exercise.
As soon as they got off the stage, they were sent to one of two rooms.
It took the entire day to finish the first cut.
The people in room one were called out to the stadium again.
"I'm so nervous!" One person said.
"I hope they liked us!" Another said.
Everyone voiced their hopes and fears as Esther, Michelle, Scott, Kirstie, Kevin, and Avi walked onto the stage.
"This was a really hard choice, guys. But sadly, you guys haven't made the cut." Avi said.
Everyone started yelling and crying.
"Thanks for coming out though!" Kirstie called, before everyone was ushered out.
They went back to the other room.
There was two hundred people tops there.
"Hey guys! So you've made the first cut! Before you leave, we just need to get your name, contact information, and a picture of you. We will start the next portion in another week!" Michelle called out.
Members went to every exit to collect info, before letting everyone leave.
Once everyone was gone, the band looked at each other with wide, exhausted eyes.
-----------------------------------------------------------------
"Hey everyone! Welcome back to part two of auditions!" Michelle called out.
People filtered through identity checks before performing thier personal song.
Again, they sorted people into rooms afterwards. This time there were four.
One was for really good people. The next was for good. Next was average. After that was the elimination room.
There was an equal split between all of the star rooms, and over half in the elimination room.
"Have everyone's profiles marked with their rooms. It'll help for the next round." Avi called out.
Everyone went to identify people, before calling the first group into the stadium.
"Hey guys. Sadly, you havent made the cut. Thanks for trying out, and we hope to see you soon!" Scott called out.
There was a lot of crying, but they gradually cleared out.
The next group was brought in. "Hey guys! So, you've made it, but just barely. We want to give you the choice here of whether or not you stay or go, as it's a very slim chance that youll pass the next round of cuts. If you want to leave, it's okay. Just let them know at the door." Kirstie said.
