It was monday.

Sydney showed up to the studio early, trying to make a good impression- not realizing it had already been made.

She walked into the studio, and sat down to wait for everyone else.

They started to trickle in about a half hour later, with Scott being the last.

"Okay. Writing and arranging today." Johnathan said, signalling for everyone to get started.

He went over to Sydney.

"Just watch for now. If anything jumps out at you, just make a suggestion. Don't worry if you can't do it right off the bat, it can take some time." He said, before leaving.

"Okay. Starting from scratch. What do we want it to be about?" Esther called out.

"Maybe loss... or new begginings?" Kirstie suggested.

Everyone murmurred in agreement.

"Great. Let's write this thing!"

---------------------------------------------------------------------

They had all arrived by nine... and had written a verse by lunch. Arranging it came after lunch.

By the end of the day, they had the first verse arranged, and had started on the chorus.

Sydney had even chimed in a few times. All her suggestions were shot down though- they didn't fit the lyrics.

"I'll be blunt- she sticks out like a sore thumb." Scott had said to Esther.

Esther gave him a sad smile.

"Yah... that's what everyone else said. It sucks, though. She's a good girl. We could've used her. No point in trying to force her to fit though." She said, sad.

It was Tuesday.

Claudia walked into the studio right on time, and right into a Scirstie argument.

"You can't just ignore the fact that we need this!" Kirstie yelled at the baritone.

"We can't just replace him!" Scott yelled back at the alto.

"This is putting our career in jeopardy! We need to move on!"

"Why would I?! He was my best friend! Yours too!"

Kirstie laughed. "He left! He left both of us! Thank you soooo much for finally realizing that! I was left too! And I still know we need to move on!"

Scott scream-cried. "I can't!"

With that, he spun around and left.

The group didn't see him for the rest of the day.

Much like the day before, they wrote and arranged.

Claudia had some decent suggestions. Her lyrical suggestions were amazing. Her arrangment suggestions were pretty basic, however.

They finished the second verse and completed the chorus.

"I do like her..." Kirstie mused. "She seems like the type of person we should be looking for."

Kevin nodded in agreement. "She would fit with us. And her writing skills are amazing!" He gushed.

"I could see Claudia as part of Pentatonix. I get a good vibe off of her." Avi said, happy with how she was melding with the group.

It was Wednesday.

Angel was late. She blamed traffic.

The group finished nothing more than a bridge to their song, making it the slowest day yet.

After the day was over, Avi was complaining to Esther about the lack of commitment.

"How can we trust her to be there for the group, when she doesn't even get here on time? She should have budgeted for traffic! And this isn't the first time. She was always late to rehersals. I don't think she's going to work out." Avi ranted.

Since Angel had been over an hour late, Esther couldnt find a rebuttal point. "I don't think that you're connecting the right dots, but I do agree that her routine is unacceptable. But don't worry. We have three other good Stars. We can pick one of them."

Thursday morning, and Tara showed up early.

She was very cheerful throughout the entire day. Even when a few her ideas were shot down, she kept trying.

The group finished the song. Finishing it included going over everything again, as well as creating intros and outros.

"I really hope that she can stay... i think she's the best fit." Avi pleaded after the day was over.

Esther laughed. "You really like her, don't you?"

Avi's face flushed. "Well, yah, but not like that!" He blubbered.

Esther was still laughing. "No, don't worry. Scott said the same thing earlier. As did Kevin. The only person I haven't heard from is Kirstie. And that's because she left early. Michelle agreed too..." she trailed off.

"She's going to be okay, Es. I promise."

Avi wrapped his sister in a tight hug.

Esther was crying now. "I just can't help but think that it's all my fault. I dragged Mitch into this. I'm the reason he got hurt."

---------------------------------------------------------------------

Friday morning, everyone had high expectations.

Deanne was a few minutes late. Nothing big, especially considering LA traffic.

Throughout the day, the group was recording their parts. Deanne wasn't, though. She was sick.

Johnathon laid into her about dedication and how you can't just "opt out" of a concert or any other performances.

Needless to say, Deanne broke out into tears.

"I don't think she's going to work out. Jonathon had very fair points." Kirstie mentioned to Esther.

She got a sigh in response. "Very well. I'll arrange for everyone to meet here tommorrow."
