((trigger warning: depression))
the wave was coming.
the deep blue, almost black wave that threatened her very existence. it was visible now.
every day, it got closer. waves move, it's only natural.
one day, it engulfed him. the wave swallowed him whole, chewing out the light and swallowing the hope. he couldn't do anything but watch.
but then the beam came. a beam of light, projected through the murky waters. his eyes burned, his chest ached. he wasn't used to such light.
the light became his saving grace. it came in the form of a hand. a hand reached out to him.
he flinched away from it at first. he couldn't handle the thought of being torn away with what he had grown to know as home.
but slowly, surely, he warmed to the light.
and one day, he took it by the hand and was lifted out of the deep blue, almost black, waters.
and one day, he was saved.
