Q1. What's the name of the book?
A. Membiri
Q2. What is the genre of your book?
A. Fanfiction/Teen Fiction
Q3. What gave you the idea for your book?
A. To be honest, I was reading another Hunger Games Fanfiction. I was thinking how so many of them use the "two people who know each other or love each other end up in the arena and the gamemakers eventually make an exception to the rules for them, because the Capitol loves them" plot. I wanted to make one that was different, one that wasn't a love story.
Q4. Can you give a summary of your book?
A. It's been four years since Mica's brother Jerrod ran away. She doesn't know if he is alive, dead, or worse. Mica's world is overturned again, when she is reaped for the 65th Hunger Games. A horrible discovery that she never expected throws her off balance, making the games even more daunting for her than they ever were before. In the midst of chaos, fear, and desperation, will Mica be able to hold on to everything her brother once taught her, and everything he once stood for?
Q5. Why do you believe it is a good read?
A. I believe Membiri is an awesome read for anyone, from Hunger Games fans, to those who have never even heard of the Hunger Games. I have poured myself into this story, and have worked extremely hard on it. The plot is more complex than it looks at first glance, as are my cast of characters. The characters are awesome, I think, and are one of the reasons I've loved writing this story. It is quite exciting, especially towards the end.
Q6. What would you like to say to those who read your book?
A. Thank you, thank you, thank you! Every read, comment and vote gets me all jumpy and happy inside. Comments especially are appreciated. I love knowing what people think about my work, and I'm always trying to improve. But mostly THANK YOU! :)
